SIR ENUMERATION FORM DISTRIBUTION PROGRESS REPORT

As part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR), the 3rd day of House-to-House Enumeration Form Distribution was successfully carried out on 01 June 2026 by the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) under AC-15 Rangang Yangang. The progress achieved is as follows:

A total of 2,003 Enumeration Forms were distributed on 01 June 2026 during the House-to-House campaign. The distribution work was carried out by the concerned BLOs in their respective polling parts.

The distribution process was closely monitored by the BLO Supervisor, who provided necessary guidance and support to ensure the smooth and effective implementation of SIR activities.

The remaining Enumeration Forms will be distributed, and the exercise will be completed within the prescribed timeline as per the SIR schedule.

As part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR), the second day of House-to-House Enumeration Form Distribution was successfully carried out on 31 May 2026 by the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) under AC-15 Rangang Yangang.

Yangang, May 30: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of Electoral Rolls, initiated by the Election Commission of India to ensure a clean, transparent, and updated voter list, officially commenced across AC-15 Rangang Yangang constituency today.

On the very first day of this intensive exercise, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) hit the ground running, conducting door-to-door visits to distribute and collect Enumeration Forms across all 14 polling parts. Under the close monitoring of BLO Supervisors, a total of 1,414 forms were successfully distributed to households by this evening.

This crucial door-to-door exercise will continue until June 28, 2026. During this period, BLOs will visit every household to assist citizens in verifying and updating their electoral details.
The primary objective of SIR 2026 is to include all left-out eligible citizens, correct errors, and remove the names of duplicate, shifted, or deceased electors to maintain an absolute level of accuracy in our rolls. Political parties are also actively participating through their Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to ensure full transparency.

The administrative and election authorities appeal to all residents of the Rangang Yangang constituency to extend their full support, cooperation, and hospitality to the visiting BLOs, ensuring forms are completed and submitted within the prescribed timeline.

As part of the grand 50th Golden Jubilee Celebration of the merger of Sikkim (1975–2025), the ongoing T20 Cricket Tournament at 14 Miles Playground, Ravangla, Namchi District has been attracting huge excitement and enthusiasm among sports lovers. Today marked the 5th day of the tournament, and every match has been filled with thrilling moments, sportsmanship, and energetic participation from all the teams.

Today’s much-awaited match was played between BAC Yangang and PS Ravangla. The atmosphere at the playground was highly vibrant and cheerful as cricket lovers gathered to witness the exciting encounter. The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of Block Development Officer Smt. Needay Bhutia, Assistant Director-cum-PRI Shri B.B. Bhandari, Assistant Director (Sports) Smt. Sandhiya Basnett, along with members and officials from Ravangla, whose presence motivated and encouraged all the participating players.

The BAC Yangang team was led by Team Captain Dr. Hemant Ghimirey and Vice-Captain Mr. Yug Bhusan S***a along with dedicated team members namely Mr. Vinod Phathak, Mr. Nima Tshring Lepcha, Mr. Laxuman Rai, Mr. Deewash Sharma, Mr. Puskar Chandra Rai, Mr. Kewal Gurung, Mr. Pravesh Gurung, Mr. Nim Chang Lepcha, Mr. Modhan Chettri, Mr. Sandeep, Mr. Buddha Rai, Mr. Anmol Gurung, and Mr. Kiran Rai.

The match turned out to be highly competitive and entertaining from the very beginning. BAC Yangang displayed remarkable teamwork and determination while batting. Mr. Karan Rai played an outstanding innings by scoring 44 runs, while Vice-Captain Mr. Yug Bhusan S***a contributed a brilliant 43 runs. Team Captain Dr. Hemant Ghimirey also added an impressive 29 runs to strengthen the innings. Contributions from Mr. Laxuman Rai (10), Mr. Kewal Gurung (09), Mr. Puskar Chandra Rai (04), and Mr. Binod Phathak (01) helped the team reach a respectable total score of 152 runs, setting a target of 153 runs for PS Ravangla.

The match remained full of suspense and excitement till the final moments, keeping the audience entertained throughout the game. Although BAC Yangang fought with great spirit and determination, the team was unfortunately unable to secure victory in today’s match. Despite the loss, the players displayed excellent sportsmanship, dedication, and unity on the field, which was highly appreciated by everyone present.

After the match, Block Development Officer Smt. Needay Bhutia encouraged the BAC Yangang team members not to feel discouraged by the defeat. She motivated the players to stay positive, maintain confidence, and continue participating with enthusiasm and team spirit in the coming matches. Her inspiring words boosted the morale of the players and reminded everyone that true sportsmanship lies not only in winning but also in learning, improving, and moving forward with positivity and determination.

The ongoing Golden Jubilee T20 Cricket Tournament continues to strengthen friendship, unity, and sports culture among the people, making the celebration even more memorable and meaningful for all participants and spectators.

A meeting on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls was held today at Block Administrative Centre (BAC), Yangang under the guidance of Electoral Registration Officer (ERO)/SDM Yangang, Shri K.L. Dahal, and Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO)/BDO Yangang, Smt. Needay Bhutia.

The meeting was attended by OSD to HMLA (Election Coordinator) Smt. Denkila Bhutia, BLO Supervisor Mr. Dewash Bhattarai, BLO Supervisor Mr. Manjil Rai, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of 15-Rangang Yangang Constituency, and Booth Level Agents (BLAs).

The meeting focused extensively on the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, which is set to commence across Sikkim as part of the Election Commission’s initiative to ensure a clean, transparent, and error-free electoral roll.

Detailed discussions were held regarding the roles and responsibilities of BLOs and BLAs during the SIR process. Emphasis was laid on house-to-house verification, identification of eligible voters, deletion of duplicate and shifted voters, correction of electoral details, inclusion of newly eligible voters, and ensuring that no eligible citizen is left out of the electoral roll.

The ERO and AERO highlighted the importance of maintaining accuracy and transparency throughout the revision process. BLOs were instructed to carry out field verification diligently and coordinate closely with local residents to facilitate smooth implementation of the SIR activities.

The meeting also covered procedures related to voter awareness, documentation requirements, timely submission of forms, and adherence to Election Commission guidelines. Special emphasis was given to maintaining proper records and ensuring that all electoral data is updated systematically and efficiently.

The officials encouraged all BLOs and BLAs to work with dedication, sincerity, and coordination to strengthen the democratic process and ensure maximum participation of eligible citizens in the electoral system.

The meeting concluded with an interactive session where queries and field-level challenges related to the Special Intensive Revision were discussed and clarified.

Today, under the leadership of Block Development Officer (BDO) Yangang, Smt. Needay Bhutia, a field visit and spot inspection was conducted at Lingi Sokpay GPU to assess the severe damages caused due to a massive landslide in the area.

The inspection was carried out in the presence of the Hon’ble Panchayat President of Lingi Sokpay GPU, Shri Bhagirat Sharma, Hon’ble Panchayat Members, Junior Engineer Shri Justin Palzor, IT Assistant Ms. Roshni Porthal, and members of the local community.

During the visit, the team thoroughly inspected the critically damaged road connectivity, which has created immense difficulties for the residents of Lingi Sokpay GPU. The landslide has severely affected transportation facilities, making movement risky and challenging for students, elderly citizens, patients, and daily commuters who depend on the road for essential services and daily activities.

The team also visited a nearby house that was severely damaged due to the devastating landslide. The affected family members were found in a distressed condition after suffering significant loss and damage caused by the natural calamity. The incident has created fear and concern among the residents living in the surrounding areas.

BDO Yangang, Smt. Needay Bhutia, interacted with the local residents and assured them that the matter would be taken up on priority for necessary support, restoration works, and preventive measures. The officials and representatives also discussed the urgent need for road restoration, safety arrangements, and immediate intervention to ensure the safety and well-being of the affected residents.

The landslide has caused major destruction in the locality, disrupting transportation and communication facilities in the area. The local administration and concerned officials are continuously monitoring the situation and extending all possible assistance to the affected families and residents.

Today, on 25th May 2026, a Special Gram Sabha was successfully conducted at 05 Sripatam Gagyong GPU under BAC Yangang regarding the 100% Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) Declaration under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). The meeting marked the final and closing session of the JJM programme implementation in the GPU.

The meeting was attended by BDO Yangang, Smt. Needay Bhutia, along with the Hon’ble Panchayat President of Sripatam Gagyong GPU, Shri D.R. Gurung, Hon’ble Vice Panchayat President Smt. Kaushila Sharma, Hon’ble Panchayat Members, Junior Engineers working under Sripatam Gagyong GPU, and members of the general public.

Representatives from the Implementation Support Agency (ISA), Shri Prakash Rai and Shri Arjun Rai, also attended the programme and delivered a briefing on Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), highlighting the importance of safe drinking water, community participation, and the responsibilities of the public towards proper usage and maintenance of water supply systems.

The main objective of the programme was the successful closure and completion of the Jal Jeevan Mission activities under the GPU with the declaration of 100% FHTC coverage.

During the programme, the completed JJM water supply system was officially handed over to the Village Water and Sanitation Committee (VWSC) for its smooth operation, maintenance, and proper functioning of the water supply system for the benefit of the public.

BAC Yangang expresses its gratitude to all officials, Panchayat members, stakeholders, and the public for their cooperation and support towards the successful implementation of JJM.

Today, 20 May 2026, BDO Yangang, Smt. Needay Bhutia, along with the Junior Engineer (JE), BAC Yangang, visited the residence of Shri. Khanak Sing Chettri of Namphok Ward under Sripatam Gagyong GPU, BAC Yangang.

During the recent visit of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri. Prem Singh Tamang-Golay , to Yangang, Shri. Khanak Sing Chettri had placed a request for an SGAY House. In this regard, the visit was conducted to assess and review the matter on the spot.

During the spot verification, it was found that Shri. Khanak Sing Chettri is a genuine and deserving beneficiary for the SGAY House scheme.

BAC Yangang remains committed towards addressing public grievances and extending necessary support and assistance to deserving beneficiaries under various government welfare schemes.
