The excitement of the 80th Independence Day Men’s Open Football Tournament 2026 continued today at PM SHRI SMGSSS, Khamdong, bringing together players, sports enthusiasts, and the local community in a vibrant celebration of patriotism and sportsmanship.
The programme was graced by Shri S.K. Dhungana, BDO, Khamdong, as the Chief Guest. The event was also attended by Panchayat Presidents and Members, CLC President Shri Sherap Dorjee Bhutia, OSD to the Hon’ble MLA ,Miss Sarmila Chhetri, NHPC Additional Coordinator Shri Mohan Khatiwada, members of the IDCC Committee, teachers, staff, students, and several other distinguished guests.
The football matches showcased remarkable talent, determination, and teamwork, while the enthusiastic support from the spectators added to the festive atmosphere. The tournament continues to serve as a platform for encouraging healthy competition, fostering unity among the youth, and commemorating the spirit of India’s 80th Independence Day through sports
