Ambikanagar Ambikanagar is a small project township approximately 16 km

from bustling Dandeli city in the Haliyal taluk of Uttara

Kannada district in Karnataka.

(Approx 490 KM from

Bangalore.) Ambikanagar is soaked in the green pristine

environs of the Western Ghats. The former name of

Ambikanagar is believed to be Amga. This is a settlement built by KPCL, for its employees spans approx

3 Square km . This colony is built around the hydel prject built

on the Nagjhari, a River kali tributary, that meanders through

the moist deciduous and evergre

The Nagajhari Viewpoint called Sykes point which is about 5 km

from Ambikanagar offers is a splendid panoramic view of the

Kali River valley(Karnataka) flowing through the valley

below.This nature spot is named after an Englishman who

discovered it during a hunting expedition. The Kavla Caves with their Shivling-like stalagmites To reach

one must reach the entrance of the caves after walking

hundreds of steps. There are numerous bats in the cave, so

visitors are told to keep their heads down. In many parts of the

caves you must crouch or even crawl. Once these ancient

limestone caves were home to prehistoric people. Dandeli: This picturesque city is located is situated 16km

apart from Ambikanagar. This place is known for its

abundance of Greenery and the rare wild life, hence making it

a tourist destination. Undulating streams, whispering bamboo, diverse wildlife and

innumerable trekking trails , the exciting white water rafting

across River Kali makes Dandeli a pleasant tourist destination. Other Places around Ambikanagar are the Syntheri Rocks, the

Kulgi Nature Education Camp, Bommanahalli Intake tank. Magod falls.

Finally the showdown time! Supa dam gates opened. Full of life! Looks so kool!
Apparently the 1st time it was opened was a trails to see errrr... if the gates were able to open and not rusted I guess! 😉
