A brief introduction of my village:Sahiyara
This is a renowned village in the district of Sitamarhi. It is an old village having 400 year old history. This village is situated on the Northern side of district sitamarhi. It is 18.1 km from its District Main City Sitamarhi. It is 132 km from its State Main City Patna and just 10 km from international India–Nepal border. The village is thickly populated. About 7000 people live in this village. The people are from different castes and communities. The climate of the village is very good. It is neither so cold and nor so hot. Pure drinking water is major problem. Drinking water source is not safe in my village. health of my villagers at risk. with excess Fluoride (>1.5 ppm) and presence of excess iron in groundwater is in majority in our districts. Apart from chemical impurities f***l contamination of water is prevalent in many water sources. It was found in Arsenic at low depth while fluoride content is increasing with depth
There are small river name soram flows in northern part of my village . The rivers and a small forest are its ornaments. There are Hindus and Muslims Most of the people are dependent upon agriculture. There are many educated people in our village Very few of them work in high offices under the Government . There are teachers, professors, Journalist, and doctors, businessman who live in towns and come to the village during holidays.
Migration is big problem in my village. Despite the lack of even modest livelihood opportunities, villagers migrate to states like Punjab, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Gujarat and even to far-off states like Tamil Nadu. They did not get work here and the menial jobs available do not pay enough to meet their needs. The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) has also failed the hopes of my villagers.
The villagers are hardworking and honest, our village is being improved with many facilities. Transportation, education, but irrigation is major problem. The water from the rain and floods alone would have been not sufficient to satisfy the irrigation needs of my village. There is no canal channel in our village. There is a small river that also dries in the summer Agriculture in my village is crucially dependent on monsoon and ground water.
Education system is good. The primary and high schools are really good for the boys and girls for their education. A health Centre in my village they looks like good in condition. My village also have post office, police station . village People organize cricket tournament annually.
The main speaking language of my village is bajjika.
