আজ ১১ই জুলাই, বিশ্ব জনসংখ্যা দিবস উপলক্ষে সোনামুখী কলেজ ক্যাম্পাসে আমাদের NSS ইউনিটের পক্ষ থেকে একটি বিশেষ সচেতনতামূলক কর্মসূচির আয়োজন করা হয়।
"জনসংখ্যা নিয়ন্ত্রণ ও সচেতনতাই উন্নয়নের চাবিকাঠি" - এই ভাবনাকে সামনে রেখে এবং যুবসমাজকে একটি টেকসই ভবিষ্যতের জন্য ক্ষমতায়ন করার লক্ষ্যে আমাদের আজকের এই পদক্ষেপ।
আমাদের স্বেচ্ছাসেবকদের স্বতঃস্ফূর্ত অংশগ্রহণে আজকের দিনটি সাফল্যমণ্ডিত হয়েছে।

Celebrating Van Mahotsav Week 2026 at Sonamukhi College!

আজ সোনামুখী কলেজ প্রাঙ্গণে এক সুন্দর ও মহৎ উদ্যোগের সাক্ষী থাকলাম আমরা। 'বন মহোৎসব সপ্তাহ' উপলক্ষে কলেজের সমস্ত ছাত্র-ছাত্রী এবং NSS ভলান্টিয়াররা মিলে আজ মেতে উঠেছিল বৃক্ষরোপণ উৎসবে।

Today, our campus witnessed a wonderful initiative as our enthusiastic students and dedicated NSS Volunteers came together for a massive Tree Plantation Drive. Our goal is simple: to make our campus greener and our earth healthier! 🌍💚
সবুজ পৃথিবী গড়ার লক্ষ্যে আমাদের ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের এই উদ্যোগ সত্যিই প্রশংসনীয়। পরিবেশ রক্ষায় এই ছোট্ট পদক্ষেপগুলোই আগামী দিনে বড় পরিবর্তন আনবে।

VAN MAHOTSAV WEEK 2026: Greening Our Future

"Plant Trees, Save the Environment."
To mark the beginning of Van Mahotsav Week 2026, the NSS unit of Sonamukhi College took a step toward a greener future. Yesterday, on July 1st, our dedicated volunteers organized a tree plantation drive within the college campus.
Guided by the NSS motto, "NOT ME BUT YOU," our volunteers worked together to contribute to the environment. Every sapling planted is a promise to keep our campus and our planet healthy and sustainable.

​On this serene morning, exactly at 6:30 AM, the NSS Unit of our college celebrated International Yoga Day with immense enthusiasm and spirit. Yoga is a beautiful harmony of the body, mind, and soul that guides us toward a healthy and balanced life.
​We were deeply honored and encouraged by the presence of our respected Principal Sir, all our esteemed teachers, and our vibrant students. Everyone's spontaneous participation and dedicated practice made this healthy morning truly extraordinary.

West Bengal Day Celebration - Sonamukhi College & NSS Unit

Today, Sonamukhi College and the Sonamukhi College NSS Unit jointly celebrated 'West Bengal Day' with immense pride, enthusiasm, and patriotic spirit.
The auspicious event commenced with the soulful rendition of our national song, 'Vande Mataram', followed by our traditional college anthem, setting a deep sense of devotion and respect in everyone's hearts.
To mark this special occasion and encourage the intellectual & creative skills of our students, a series of exciting events were organized, which included:
🔹 Debate Competition
🔹 Quiz Competition
🔹 Essay Writing Competition
We were highly encouraged by the gracious presence of our respected Principal Sir, along with the esteemed faculty members from all departments. The spontaneous and active participation of our dedicated NSS volunteers and all other students made this celebration and the competitions truly vibrant and memorable.
Heartfelt thanks and warm wishes to everyone who joined us in commemorating the rich history, culture, and heritage of Bengal today.

Today, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Sonamukhi College organized a highly relevant and crucial awareness seminar on "Preventive behaviour around animals including first aid and reporting mechanisms on Dog bite incidents."
Coexisting with street dogs and other animals is a natural part of our daily lives. However, unfortunate incidents sometimes occur due to a lack of proper knowledge or carelessness. Therefore, building awareness, rather than spreading panic, is the need of the hour.

Today's special seminar primarily focused on the following key areas:

Proper Behavior: Cultivating sensitivity and learning how to safely and respectfully interact with the animals around us.

First Aid: Immediate and critical steps to take on the spot in case of a dog bite or scratch.

Reporting Mechanisms: The proper procedure for reporting such incidents to the nearest healthcare center or appropriate authorities without delay.

The event was a grand success, enriched by the enthusiastic participation and engaging discussions of our students and NSS volunteers. Let’s work together to build a safe, healthy, and compassionate environment where humans and animals can peacefully coexist.

✨ "Healthy Body, Healthy Mind—Empowering Lives through Awareness!" ✨

Upholding the true spirit of the National Service Scheme (NSS) motto, "Not Me, But You", we took a vital step forward today towards building a healthier and more conscious society.
We are immensely proud to share that an "Awareness and Sensitisation Programme on Menstrual Hygiene and Tuberculosis (TB)" was successfully organized today. This impactful initiative was a joint collaboration between the Health Home Sub-Committee, our NSS Unit, and Sonamukhi Rural Hospital.

Key Highlights of the Seminar:

Menstrual Hygiene: Breaking deep-rooted societal taboos and emphasizing the critical importance of safe menstrual practices, sanitation, and personal hygiene for women's well-being.

Tuberculosis (TB) Awareness: Focusing on a "TB-Free Society," the session educated the audience on the early symptoms of TB, the importance of timely diagnosis, and the necessity of completing the prescribed medical treatment for a full recovery.

A Noble Initiative by Sonamukhi College NSS on the Occasion of World Environment Day 2026! 🌿🌍

Today, June 5th (Friday), on the occasion of 'World Environment Day', a grand tree plantation program was organized by the Sonamukhi College NSS Unit. This green pledge was undertaken focusing on this year's special Environment Day theme— "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" (A Tree in the Name of Mother).
Distinguished and honorable guests encouraged us with their presence at today's auspicious and important event:

A tree not only saves the environment but also promises a beautiful world for future generations. To make the theme "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" successful, let us all come together to plant at least one tree and nurture it with the utmost care, just like a mother.
