Sri VijayNagar ^.^LOCATION^.^

Sri Vijaynagar tehsil is located in the southern part of District Sri Ganganagar. Bikaner District touches in south direction.

It is bordered by Anoopgarh tehsil in the west, by Raisingnagar tehshil in the north, and by Suratgarh tehsil in the east. History

It was area of sandy dunes,h***y shrubs and trees. Arrival of waters of Gang canal and Indira Gandhi Canal by Anoopgarh branch has important role of flora and fauna of this area. People from other tehsils of Sriganganagar District, Bikaner and from Punjab and Haryana

came here and composite culture took its place.

[GEOGRAPHY.....]

This Tehsil is a part of Thar desert. Sandy dunes and h***y shrubs, trees are basic characteristics of the area. Ghaggar river is only river runs in rainy season. Irrigation by Gang canal and Anoopgarh branch canal has encouraged agriculture activities in the area. RELIGION

Hinduism and Sikhism is practised by majority of people. Islam is also third important religion in this tehsil. LANGUAGES

Bagri, a dailect of Rajasthani language is spoken by majority of people. Punjabi language is second important language by people. Sindhi and Seraiki (some consider it a dialect of Punjabi language) is also spoken by few people. Odh and Bawri people speak their unique language. Hindi is the official language. CULTURE

Rajasthani and Punjabi cultures are dominant here. ECONOMY

Agriculture is main occuption of people. Wheat, jawar, guar, mustard and paddy are the main crops. TRANSPORT

Almost all big villages are connected with roads. Vijainagar is connected by railway line. Major towns and villages

Vijainagar, Jaitsar etc.
