When a 93-year-old man was discharged from the Corona ward after he had paid his bill, the hospital staff asked for Rs 13K more. This amount had been somehow not added to the bill.
On asking, he was told it was payment for one day of oxygen. The old man started crying uncontrollably after hearing this.
Seeing the old man crying, the doctor said, "Please don't cry. If you can't pay this amount, let it be. ′′
Then the old man said something, hearing which the whole staff started crying.
He said, ′′I'm not crying over this amount. I can easily pay this. ′′
′′I'm crying because I've been breathing for 93 years, and I haven't paid a penny for these breaths. If the cost of breathing for a day is Rs13K, then you can understand how much I am in debt to nature. ′′
′′I have never thanked nature for this precious gift of oxygen. ′′
