Prime Minister's Internship Scheme – Pilot Project (2024-25)
The Prime Minister's Internship Scheme , announced in the 2024-25 Budget, aims to provide internship opportunities to 1 crore youth in India’s top 500 companies over five years. As a first step, a Pilot Project for 1.25 lakh internships will be launched in the financial year 2024-25.
Key Features
Duration : 12 months in top companies.
Stipend : ₹5,000/month (₹500 from the company, ₹4,500 from the Government).
Grant : One-time payment of ₹6,000 for incidentals.
Insurance : Coverage under Government schemes (Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana).

Eligibility
Age: 21–24 years (as of the application deadline).
Education :
High School, Higher Secondary, ITI, Polytechnic diploma, or graduate degrees (BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, BCA, etc.).
*Employment* : Not engaged in full-time employment or education. (Distance/online students are eligible.)

Ineligibility
Graduates from IITs, IIMs, NIDs, IISERs, and similar premier institutes.
Professional qualifications (CA, CMA, CS, MBBS, MBA, etc.).
Candidates undergoing training under other government schemes (NATS/NAPS, etc.).
Family income above ₹8 lakh in FY 2023-24.
Candidates with family members in permanent government jobs.
