On the occasion of World Mangrove Day, we had the privilege of engaging youth, children, fisherfolk, and women's groups across the Pulicat landscape in awareness programmes highlighting the vital role of mangroves in conserving biodiversity, protecting coastal ecosystems, and strengthening climate resilience. Rural Enlightment & Agricultural Development Society Ngo In collaboration with the Department of Forests, local elected representatives, community leaders, and the Pulicat Restoration Committee, we also conducted an essay competition on Nature and Biodiversity, inspiring the next generation to become informed custodians of our natural heritage. Together, these collective efforts reaffirm that restoring and protecting mangroves is not only an environmental priority but also a pathway to sustainable livelihoods, resilient communities, and a thriving Blue Economy.
