Another Threat to Kashmiri Pandits in Two Weeks, Muzaffar Shah Questions Claims of “Normalcy”

Srinagar, August 24: Awami National Conference Senior Vice President Muzaffar Shah has expressed grave concern over yet another threat to Kashmiri Pandits within a span of just two weeks, calling the development “harrowing” and raising serious questions over repeated claims of normalcy in Jammu & Kashmir.

Shah said the safety of Kashmiri Pandits cannot be reduced to a mere “security issue,” stressing that it concerns precious human lives and carries a direct responsibility for those at the helm of affairs. He questioned how such threats continue to emerge despite assurances of improved security and normalcy in the region.

Calling for greater accountability, Shah urged the Union Home Ministry to take the matter seriously and ensure that the safety and security of Kashmiri Pandits remain an uncompromising priority.

“Another threat to Kashmiri Pandits within just two weeks is harrowing. What happened to the claims of normalcy?” Shah said, insisting that responsibility must be fixed and concrete measures taken to prevent further threats to the community.

سرینگر، 20 اگست: عوامی نیشنل کانفرنس (اے این سی) کے جنرل سیکریٹری ایڈووکیٹ میر محمد شفیع نے لوگوں کو راشن حاصل کرنے میں پیش آنے والی مشکلات، خصوصاً بار بار بائیومیٹرک تصدیق اور بعض زمروں کے راشن کی عدم دستیابی پر گہری تشویش کا اظہار کیا ہے۔
ایڈووکیٹ میر محمد شفیع نے کہا کہ انہوں نے ڈائریکٹر، محکمہ خوراک، شہری رسد و امور صارفین سے تین ماہ کے لیے فراہم کیے جانے والے راشن کے حوالے سے رجوع کیا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ موجودہ نظام کی وجہ سے عام لوگوں کو شدید مشکلات کا سامنا کرنا پڑ رہا ہے، جو پہلے ہی ضروری غذائی اجناس کے حصول میں دشواریوں سے دوچار ہیں۔
انہوں نے خاص طور پر بار بار بائیومیٹرک تصدیق کی ضرورت پر تشویش ظاہر کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ مستحقین سے ایک مرتبہ بائیومیٹرک تصدیق مکمل ہونے کے باوجود پانچ سے سات مرتبہ دوبارہ بائیومیٹرک کرانے کو کہا جاتا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ بار بار تصدیق کے اس عمل سے لوگوں کو غیر ضروری طور پر راشن ڈپوؤں کے چکر لگانے پڑتے ہیں۔
اے این سی جنرل سیکریٹری نے مزید کہا کہ راشن ڈیلروں کی جانب سے لوگوں کو اکثر بتایا جاتا ہے کہ مطلوبہ زمرے کا راشن دستیاب نہیں ہے۔ نتیجتاً مستحقین کو اپنا جائز راشن حاصل کرنے کے لیے دو سے تین دن تک انتظار کرنا پڑتا ہے۔
انہوں نے کہا، "لوگوں کو اس طرح کی غیر ضروری پریشانی کی ضرورت نہیں ہے۔ انہیں اپنا جائز راشن آسان، شفاف اور باوقار طریقے سے ملنا چاہیے۔ اگر بائیومیٹرک تصدیق ضروری ہے تو اس عمل کو آسان بنایا جائے تاکہ مستحقین کو بار بار راشن ڈپوؤں پر نہ بلایا جائے۔"
ایڈووکیٹ میر محمد شفیع نے محکمہ خوراک، شہری رسد و امور صارفین سے مطالبہ کیا کہ عوامی شکایات کا فوری نوٹس لیا جائے، تمام متعلقہ زمروں کے راشن کی مناسب دستیابی کو یقینی بنایا جائے اور بائیومیٹرک تصدیق کے عمل کو سہل بنایا جائے۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ انتظامیہ کو یقینی بنانا چاہیے کہ کسی بھی حقیقی مستحق کو تکنیکی یا انتظامی مشکلات کے باعث اس کے جائز راشن سے محروم نہ ہونا پڑے اور نہ ہی غیر ضروری تاخیر کا سامنا کرنا پڑے۔ انہوں نے عوامی مفاد میں فوری اصلاحی اقدامات کا مطالبہ کیا۔

ANC General Secretary Advocate Mir Mohammed Shafi Raises Concern Over Ration Distribution and Biometric Verification
Srinagar, August 20: Awami National Conference (ANC) General Secretary Advocate Mir Mohammed Shafi has expressed serious concern over the difficulties being faced by people in obtaining their ration, particularly due to repeated biometric verification and the alleged non-availability of ration under certain categories.
Advocate Mir Mohammed Shafi said that he has approached the Director, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department, regarding the ration being provided to beneficiaries for a period of three months. He said that the present system is causing considerable inconvenience to ordinary people, who are already facing hardships in accessing essential food supplies.
He particularly raised concern over the repeated requirement of biometric authentication. According to him, beneficiaries are often asked to provide their biometrics five to seven times, despite having already completed the process once. He said that this repeated verification is creating unnecessary hardship for people, who are being forced to make repeated visits to ration stores.
The ANC General Secretary further said that people are frequently being told by ration storekeepers that the required category of ration is not available. As a result, beneficiaries are reportedly forced to wait for two to three days to receive their entitled ration.
“People do not need this kind of unnecessary hassle. They need their entitled ration in a simple, transparent and dignified manner. If biometric authentication is required, the process should be streamlined so that beneficiaries are not repeatedly called to ration stores,” Advocate Mir Mohammed Shafi said.
He urged the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department to immediately look into the complaints, ensure adequate availability of ration under all applicable categories, and simplify the biometric verification process.
Advocate Mir Mohammed Shafi said that the administration must ensure that no genuine beneficiary is deprived of or unnecessarily delayed in receiving their entitled ration because of procedural or technical difficulties. He called for prompt corrective measures in the larger public interest.

سرینگر، 5 اگست: عوامی نیشنل کانفرنس (اے این سی) کی صدر بیگم خالدہ شاہ اور سینئر نائب صدر مظفر شاہ نے 5 اگست 2019 کو آرٹیکل 370 اور آرٹیکل 35 اے کی غیر آئینی اور یکطرفہ منسوخی کی شدید مذمت کرتے ہوئے اسے جموں، کشمیر اور لداخ کی آئینی اور سیاسی تاریخ کا ایک سیاہ ترین باب قرار دیا۔
اے این سی قیادت نے کہا کہ آرٹیکل 370 اور 35 اے محض آئینی دفعات نہیں تھیں بلکہ یہ جموں، کشمیر اور لداخ اور یونین آف انڈیا کے درمیان آئینی رشتے اور باہمی تعلق کی بنیاد تھیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ عوام کی رضا مندی کے بغیر ان دفعات کو ختم کرنا جمہوریت، آئینی اقدار اور وفاقی ڈھانچے کی روح کے منافی اقدام تھا۔

ANC to Observe 5th August as a Black Day; Calls for Peaceful Protest Against the Unconstitutional Abrogation of Articles 370 & 35A
Srinagar, August 5: Awami National Conference (ANC) President Begum Khalida Shah and Senior Vice President Muzaffar Shah have strongly condemned the unconstitutional and unilateral abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A on August 5, 2019, describing it as one of the darkest chapters in the constitutional and political history of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
The ANC leadership stated that Articles 370 and 35A were not merely constitutional provisions but represented the constitutional relationship between the erstwhile State of Jammu & Kashmir and the Union of India. They said that the manner in which these provisions were revoked without the consent of the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh was against the spirit of democracy, constitutional morality, and the federal structure of the country.
Begum Khalida Shah and Muzaffar Shah reiterated that the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh continue to bear the political, constitutional and emotional consequences of the decisions taken on August 5, 2019. They emphasized that lasting peace, stability and progress can only be achieved through dialogue, restoration of democratic rights and respect for the constitutional aspirations of the people.
The ANC leadership announced that the party will observe August 5 as a Black Day and hold peaceful protests at all ANC district offices as well as the Party Headquarters. They appealed to all party office-bearers, workers and supporters to participate in these peaceful demonstrations in a disciplined and democratic manner, reaffirming the party's commitment to constitutional values, justice and peaceful democratic struggle.

*Muzaffar Shah Condemns Killing of Over 30 Civilians in PoJK, Seeks Immediate GoI Intervention*

_Calls for J&K All Party Meeting Over PoJK Bloodshed; Says 'Voices Cannot Be Silenced Through the Barrel of a Gun'_

*Srinagar, July 29:* J&K Awami National Conference Senior Vice President Muzaffar Shah on Wednesday strongly condemned the brutal killings of more than 30 civilians and the injuries sustained by nearly 200 others during the ongoing crackdown in Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir, describing the violence as a grave humanitarian tragedy and a shocking assault on fundamental human rights.

Expressing profound anguish over the bloodshed, Shah said the continued use of live ammunition, tear gas and pellet guns against unarmed civilians protesting for their economic, political and social rights represents an unacceptable abuse of state power.

He said the systematic suppression of peaceful voices through force has created an atmosphere of fear and repression that demands immediate attention from the international community.

Calling upon the Government of India to take urgent cognisance of the rapidly deteriorating situation, Shah urged New Delhi to intervene through all appropriate diplomatic and humanitarian channels and unequivocally stand with the people of PoJK.

He said India has a moral responsibility to raise the issue forcefully and ensure that the plight of the people across the Line of Control receives the attention it deserves.

The senior ANC leader also called for an immediate All Party Meeting in Jammu and Kashmir, urging political parties to rise above political differences and collectively deliberate on the unfolding crisis. He said a united political response would send a powerful message of solidarity with the people of PoJK and reaffirm Jammu and Kashmir's commitment to defending human rights and democratic values.

Shah said the killing of more than 30 civilians and the injuries inflicted upon nearly 200 others cannot be viewed as an isolated law and order issue but as a grave violation of the people's fundamental rights. He maintained that every citizen has the right to peacefully express grievances and demand economic justice, political representation and equitable access to local resources without facing violent repression.

Expressing solidarity with the bereaved families and those injured in the crackdown, Shah said the people of PoJK have endured prolonged deprivation and deserve justice, dignity and the freedom to peacefully articulate their aspirations. He asserted that silencing public dissent through violence only deepens public resentment and further undermines the prospects for peace and stability in the region.

Reaffirming the Awami National Conference's commitment to the defence of human rights, Shah urged GoI, the democratic institutions and the international community to closely monitor the situation and ensure that those responsible for the violence are held accountable.

"The brutal killing of more than 30 innocent civilians and the indiscriminate use of force against peaceful protesters is a grim reminder of the suffering being endured by the people of PoJK. The Government of India must intervene without delay and the political leadership of Jammu and Kashmir must come together on a common platform to condemn these atrocities. The voices of the oppressed cannot and must not be silenced through the barrel of a gun," Shah said.

Muzaffar Shah Voices Deep Sorrow Over Loss of Lives in Rajouri Cloudburst, Expresses Sympathies with Affected Families

Srinagar, July 19: Jammu and Kashmir Awami National Conference Senior VP Muzaffar Shah, on Sunday expressed profound grief over the loss of lives and large-scale destruction caused by the recent cloudbursts and flash floods across Jammu and Kashmir.

Extending his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, Shah prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and expressed solidarity with all those who have lost their homes, livelihoods, livestock and agricultural land in the disaster.

He urged the administration to intensify rescue and relief operations, ensure the timely evacuation of vulnerable residents, and provide uninterrupted access to food, drinking water, medicines, shelter and other essential supplies. He also called for the early restoration of roads, electricity and communication services in the affected areas.

Demanding a transparent assessment of the damage, Shah urged the government to provide adequate compensation and launch a comprehensive rehabilitation programme for the affected families. He reaffirmed that the Awami National Conference stands firmly with the people of Jammu and Kashmir during this difficult time.
