Brutality against a poor street vendor by Tangmarg municipal employees is a shameful abuse of power. Snatching a man’s livelihood and assaulting him in public is not governance it is tyranny. We demand strict action against the guilty and immediate compensation to the victim. Tangmarg must be ruled by law, not by force.

Snatching the livelihood of the main stand drivers of Tangmarg is a sheer injustice and a clear violation of their legal as well as natural rights. It is deeply concerning how outside drivers are being allowed to ply their vehicles on the Gulmarg route despite having no jurisdiction or registration with the Tangmarg main stand.
The registered main stand drivers of Tangmarg regularly pay their membership fees and have always stood for the welfare and smooth functioning of all routes falling within the Tangmarg jurisdiction, including the Gulmarg road and other connecting roads. They remain available throughout the year during both off-season and peak season ensuring uninterrupted transport services even under difficult conditions.
However, during the peak tourist season on the Gulmarg road, allowing outside drivers to operate vehicles solely for profit is nothing but an attempt to sn**ch the livelihood of the legitimate main stand drivers. While every citizen has the right to trade and earn a livelihood, this right must be exercised strictly in accordance with the due process of law. Outsiders have no legal or moral right to ply vehicles within the Gulmarg road jurisdiction at the cost of registered Tangmarg drivers.
The irony of the situation is that during this peak season, main stand drivers are unable to earn even a single penny throughout the day, while drivers from outside stands are making handsome amounts. This reflects blatant discrimination and gross injustice against the Tangmarg main stand drivers.
Equally disturbing is the role of certain politicians who are allegedly pressurising responsible office bearers of the main stand be it the President or other accountable persons to allow outside vehicles for personal benefits and vote-bank politics. Such actions are shameful, unethical, and detrimental to the rights of local drivers.
There is an urgent need for immediate intervention to stop this injustice, protect the livelihood of the Tangmarg main stand drivers, and ensure that law, fairness, and jurisdictional norms are strictly upheld.
