NIELIT J&K Conducts 2 Days Career guidance workshop in Gurez and Tulail, Explores Study Centre Establishment
NIELIT J&K organized career guidance workhop on 29 and 30 June 2026, at the Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Dawar, Gurez, in collaboration with the Indian Army and the J&K ST, SC & OBC Development Corporation. The programme, hosted by Principal,Hr Sec Gurez ,Sh. Asadullah Wani, witnessed the participation of more than 300 students from across the Gurez Valley.
During the event,NIELIT J&K highlighted the importance of digital literacy and emerging technologies, informing students about NIELIT's free training programmes in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, IoT, Data Analytics, Electronics, and Digital Literacy. Also briefed the students about NIELIT's tuition fee-free academic programmes, including BCA, B.Sc. (AI & ML), B.Tech (AI & ML), and M.Tech in Cyber Forensics for SC/ST belt of Gurez and Tulail
The programme was graced by Sh. Nazir Ahmad Khan, Hon'ble MLA, Gurez, who appreciated NIELIT's efforts to expand quality technical education in the region. Sh. Ashok Thukaan, Financial Advisor & Chief Accounts Officer, ST, SC & OBC Development Corporation, also addressed the gathering, highlighting various educational and welfare schemes available for eligible students.
The event was attended by Sh. Mukhtar Ahmad, SDM Gurez, Dr. Ajith of the 16 Assam Regiment, representatives of the Indian Army, and a NIELIT Accredited Institute.
Further a 5 days bootcamp titled” AI and security in BlockChain Technology” under Future Skills Prime was conducted from 29th June to 03rd July 2026 at Govt. Hr Secondary, Dawar, Gurez witnessing an overwhelming response of more that 140 candidates conducted under the CI of the project Dr. Fayaz Ahmad Fayaz.
As part of the visit, NIELIT J&K also held discussions with Commanding Officer Col. Deepak Singh Mehta regarding the establishment of a NIELIT Study Centre in Gurez, aimed at bringing digital education and skill development opportunities closer to the youth of the region.
Director In-charge,NIELIT J&K further interacted with the local community through a special podcast on Shina Gilgit 88.8 FM Radio, encouraging students to take advantage of NIELIT's educational initiatives and build careers in emerging technologies.
