Faced with problem of huge inflow of weeds of chestnuts and resultant drop in power generation, officers of Lower Jhelum Hydroelectric Project of J&K State Power Development Corporation proactively engage with farmers in Ninglee, Tarzoo, Zoorimanz, Matlab, Kuenus, Ashtengu, Aaloosa, Kanibaith & Watlab villages to sensitize them about ill effects of throwing uprooted weeds after chestnut harvesting into Wular lake and Jhelum river.

JKSPDC FC lost the final contest against the mighty J&K Bank football team 1-2 after putting up a tough fight against the number one football team of J&K.
Umaid Hussain of JKSPDC football team was adjudged as Goalkeeper of the Tournament.
