*Parents Urge Education Minister to Avoid Two-Day School Closure, Cite Academic Losses in Kashmir*

_Govt Should exempt students from participating in rallies, government programmes and other activities: Parents_

Srinagar, Sep 20(CNS): Parents across the Kashmir Valley have urged the Hon’ble Education Minister to reconsider the proposed two-day school closure, expressing concern over the academic loss already faced by students due to government holidays, official programmes, rallies and various extracurricular activities.

According to CNS Parents stated that students are struggling to complete their regular academic syllabus as a significant amount of instructional time has already been lost owing to gazetted holidays, government functions and other programmes.

They emphasized that the academic future and careers of the younger generation should not be compromised, urging the government to adopt a balanced approach while organizing official events and programmes.

“Students are already facing difficulties in completing their syllabus. Further closure of schools for two days could put additional pressure on them and affect their academic progress,” parents said.

The parents also appealed to the government to exempt students from participating in rallies, government programmes and other activities that interfere with regular classroom teaching.

They urged the Education Department to prioritize academic instruction and ensure that students receive adequate classroom time to complete their prescribed syllabus.

“The academic future of our children must remain a priority. The government should avoid unnecessary disruption to school education and safeguard the interests of students,” the parents appealed.(CNS)
