AMC-54 | MT. MACHOI | 5,130 M | SUMMIT SUCCESS
As part of the Height Gain Expedition, the team of Advance Mountaineering Course-54 successfully summited Mt.
Machoi (5,130 m) on 30 August 2026 at 0600H.
The team commenced its journey from the road head to the Base Camp on 29 August. After a brief rest, the summit push began at 0200H on 30 August, navigating challenging terrain, crevasses, and demanding mountain conditions.
With determination, teamwork, and mountaineering skills, the team successfully reached the summit at 0600H

ADVANCE MOUNTAINEERING COURSE-54 | SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDED

Advance Mountaineering Course-54 successfully concluded at the Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering & Winter Sports (JIM&WS), with participants receiving comprehensive training in advanced mountaineering techniques through Rock Craft, Ice Craft and high-altitude training at Machoi Glacier.

The valedictory ceremony was graced by Col. Hem Chandra Singh, Principal, JIM&WS, as the Chief Guest, who congratulated the participants and encouraged them to continue pursuing excellence in mountaineering and adventure sports.

Following the completion of the training, the AMC-54 team undertook a Height Gain Expedition to Mt. Machoi (5,130 m). The team successfully summited the peak on 30 August 2026 at 0615H, navigating challenging terrain and crevasse sections and putting their advanced mountaineering skills into practice.

Congratulations to all awardees and participants for their dedication, perseverance, teamwork and commitment throughout the course.

FAREWELL TO SHRI K.C. SHARMA JI | 38 YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE

After an illustrious 38 years of dedicated service, Shri K.C. Sharma (Krishna Chand Sharma Ji) bids farewell to JIM & WS on his retirement.

Throughout his remarkable journey, Sharma Ji has been a valued member of the JIM & WS family, contributing with unwavering dedication, sincerity and commitment. His years of service have been an integral part of the institute’s journey and will always be remembered with respect and gratitude.

On this special occasion, Col. Hem Chandra Singh, Principal JIM & WS, along with officers, instructors and staff members, came together to honour his long and distinguished service and express their heartfelt appreciation for his invaluable contribution to the Institute.

His 38 years of dedication, hard work and service have left behind memories and a legacy that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
