Iqra Maqbool of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Naira was thrilled with joy when she came to know that she had passed the 10th class board examination with flying colours.
Iqra obtained 471 marks out of 500 and emerged as first position in the Higher secondary Naira.
According to Iqra, the result is beyond her expectations, hailing from Naira area of District Pulwama.
Belonging to a poor family and daughter of Maqbool Ahmad , who works as a farmer and her mother, a house maker, Iqra credits hard work and support of the parents as mantra of her success.
“Whenever I studied, I did it with full attention and focus “, she said, adding that her parents guided her whenever she was in need of their support in studies.
Iqra’s father, Maqbool is jubilant over the success of her daughter and wants her daughter to top the Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to professional courses. “I was delighted to hear that my daughter has topped in the Higher Secondary as has bagged 471 marks. Her triumph is proof that girls are no lesser than boys,” he says.
Iqra is desperate to be an engineer. But, the financial support she needs for her study seems impossible. There is no one in her family, who can support her financially for pursuing her goal.
