Once Bihar was a land of great kings, scholars, sages, poets, traders, artisans and statesmen. From the first pan Indian empire, the Mauryan Empire, whose capital was Patliputra which is today's Patna (the capital of Bihar) to the ancient university Nalanda university, which attracted students from all over the world, this land was once the centre of Indian civilization.
This land is a holy place for Jains and Buddhists as their founders Mahaveer Swami and Gautam Buddha were born and enlightened in this region. The great mathematician and astronomer Aryabhatta who is credited to discover the digit zero had his observatory near Patna.
The land of such great sages, scholars, and kings is lagging at multiple levels today. There is lack of leadership at every level. Be it social, spiritual, political, educational and industrial.
Every year millions of people migrate to other states in search of livelihood opportunities, quality education and better health facilities. People have completely forgotten their glorious past. Many people who have their roots in Bihar but now living in cities feel ashamed to call themselves Bihari.
Realising all these, we felt deep urge to work for our motherland. Our vision is to make Bihar again the hub of education, trade and scholarship.
For this ambitious task every Bihari has to work together. We need the support and cooperation of all those who are concerned for society.
Jay Bihar!
