A transformative initiative by Surat Municipal Corporation to conserve water, promote a Circular Economy and build a sustainable future.
Surat Municipal Corporation has established two 40 MLD Tertiary Treatment Plants at Bamroli and Dindoli to convert treated wastewater into high-quality industrial water, reducing the use of valuable drinking water for industrial purposes.
Using advanced treatment technologies such as Disc Filtration, Ultra Filtration, Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Activated Carbon Filtration, these plants supply recycled water to various industrial estates, providing industries with a reliable and sustainable alternative water source.
By treating and reusing wastewater, the project follows the principles of a Circular Economy, where water is recycled, reused and supplied to water-based industries as a reliable and sustainable alternative to fresh water. This initiative helps conserve groundwater, reduce pressure on the city's drinking water supply, minimize dependence on borewells and private water tankers, and support sustainable industrial growth.
By reusing every drop, Surat is protecting its water resources and setting a benchmark for sustainable urban water management.
Towards a Water-Secure, Sustainable Surat.
