Field Visit by Principal Census Officer

Today, the Principal Census Officer, Tamulpur, Simi Karan, IAS, visited certain HLBs to review and assess the work being carried out by the Enumerators in connection with the Census 2027.

During the visit, she interacted with the field-level functionaries, reviewed the progress of enumeration work, and emphasized the importance of accurate, timely, and responsible data collection as per the prescribed Census guidelines.

The visit aimed at ensuring effective implementation and smooth conduct of the Census operations at the grassroots level.

Today, on 20th August 2026, a review meeting was held at the Conference Hall of the District Commissioner, Tamulpur, to discuss the construction and progress of Model Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) across the district.
The meeting was chaired by the District Commissioner, Tamulpur, Simi Karan, IAS, and was attended by the ADC (WCD), Assistant Commissioner, DSWO, all CDPOs, BDOs, AEEs, AEs and JEs concerned under Tamulpur district.
The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of ongoing construction works, addressing implementation-related issues, and ensuring timely completion of the Model AWCs with the required quality standards.

Today, in the presence of the District Commissioner of Tamulpur, Smt. Simi Karan, IAS, the Paddy Procurement Centre, Tamulpur for the second phase of the 2025–26 procurement year was inaugurated.
Through this procurement centre, 10,000 quintals of paddy will be procured from farmers of the Tamulpur constituency.

🇮🇳 80th Independence Day Celebration at Tamulpur

The 80th Independence Day was celebrated today at Tamulpur Higher Secondary School Playground with great patriotic fervour, enthusiasm and pride. The celebration brought together students, teachers, officials and members of the community to commemorate the nation’s journey and honour the sacrifices of our freedom fighters.

The programme was graced by Shri Maheshwar Basumatary, Executive Member, BTC, as the Chief Guest, in the esteemed presence of Smt. Simi Karan, IAS, District Commissioner, Tamulpur.

The celebration featured a series of patriotic and cultural programmes presented by the students, reflecting the spirit of unity, diversity and national pride. The occasion also served as a reminder of our collective responsibility towards building a stronger, inclusive and progressive India.
