Based on specific input, a raid was conducted today at around 4:30 PM at the residence of Javed Ali, 22 yrs, S/O Lt. Ajgar Ali, of Borguri.

During the search, *95 vials filled with suspected he**in* weighing *111.16 grams gross* and *11.51 grams net* were recovered from his possession, along with one POCO mobile handset, his Aadhaar card.
Apprehended three more persons namely
1. *Mujahidul Haque*,, S/O Ishak Ali, R/O Bhojkhowa Chapori
2. *Isadul Haque*, S/O Lt. Khairul Haque, R/O Bhojkhowa Chapori
3. *Nekbor Ali*, S/O Ishak Ali, R/O Bhojkhowa Chapori

With a heavy heart, we mourn the demise of C/N Anukul Das, 31st APBN, who passed away on 26/05/2026 at Dhubri. He was admitted to TIMES Hospital, Tezpur on 12/04/2026 after suffering a brain haemorrhage while on duty. He served with honour and commitment. We pray for strength to his family and peace to the departed soul.

An unknown person on a Pulsar motorcycle snatched her gold chain weighing approx. 16 grams near her residence. The accused was reportedly wearing a blue helmet and light brown shorts.

During investigation, Tezpur PS arrested four accused:
1. Md. Jamir Hussain,
2. Jahidul Islam,
3. Md. Suleman Ali,
4. Mrs. Jenifa Khatun,
The snatched gold chain was recovered from their possession and the motorcycles used in the crime were seized. Further investigation is underway.

Cyber criminals and online predators are misusing children’s photos and personal details from social media for CSAM, AI morphing, grooming, sextortion, cyberbullying and identity theft.

Schools are advised to avoid posting identifiable photos, names, class details, locations or real-time updates involving minors, and ensure strict review before sharing any child-related content online.

A meeting was held at the Office Chamber of SSP, Sonitpur on 23rd May 2026 in connection with peaceful celebration of Eid, which was chaired by the SSP, Sonitpur in presence of all GOs and OsC and ICs of the district. All the CDSsP and OsC were directed to hold meetings with the respective Masjid Committees along with CDCs, Circle Officers and VDPs and appeal them for coordination and support for the peaceful celebration of the festival.

Destruction of Illicit Drugs Seized by Sonitpur Police.

As mandated under the NDPS Act, the District Drug Disposal Committee, Sonitpur, carried out the destruction of illicit drugs at Noorbari Tea Estate , Paruwa, Tezpur on 20/05/2026. The contraband had been seized during continuous operations conducted by our officers in the ongoing fight against the drug menace.
The approximate value of the destroyed drugs was Rs. 4,79,46,900/-.

On reliable input of narcotics sale at No. 2 Chitalmari, police set up a naka and detained bike AS12AJ9514. Two persons, Foridul Islam, and Nekibur Islam of No. 2 Rongagora, Dhekiajuli, were apprehended. After search with due authorization, 40 plastic containers with suspected he**in weighing 22 grams net were recovered—37 from the bike and 3 from Foridul Islam. Seized and legal action initiated.
