ലോകത്തിലെ പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട ഡിസൈൻ പുരസ്കാരങ്ങളിലൊന്നായ DNA പാരീസ് ഡിസൈൻ അവാർഡും കേരളത്തിലേക്ക്. കേരളത്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ള സംരംഭമായ എക്ട്രാവീവാണ് DNA പാരീസ് ഡിസൈൻ അവാർഡ്സ് 2023ൽ എക്കോ - ഡിസൈൻ കാറ്റഗറിയിൽ പുരസ്കാരത്തിന് അർഹത നേടിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. കേരളത്തിൻ്റെ പ്രകൃതിരമണീയതയും സാംസ്കാരികത്തനിമയും ഒത്തിണക്കി ഡിസൈനർ ജാമിയ ജോസഫിൻ്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലുള്ള ടീം നിർമ്മിച്ച ‘വള്ളംകളി റഗ്’ നമ്മുടെ ടെക്സ്റ്റൈൽ ഡിസൈനുകൾ ലോകോത്തര വേദികളിൽ എന്തുകൊണ്ട് ശ്രദ്ധിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു എന്നതിന് ഉദാഹരണമാണ്. ഇന്ത്യയിൽ നിന്ന് ഈ വർഷം പുരസ്കാരം ലഭിച്ച ഏക ടീം കൂടിയാണ് ആലപ്പുഴയിൽ നിന്നുള്ള സംരംഭമായ എക്സ്ട്രാവീവ്.

ലോകോത്തര ഫാഷൻ ഇവൻ്റുകളിലൊന്നായ മെറ്റ്ഗാലയിലേക്ക് കാർപ്പറ്റ് നിർമ്മിച്ചുനൽകി ലോകത്തിന് മുന്നിൽ കേരളത്തിൻ്റെ യശസ്സുയർത്തിയ സംരംഭമാണ് എക്സ്ട്രാവീവ്. വൂൾ കാർപ്പറ്റുകളിൽ നിന്ന് ലോകം സൈസിൽ ഫാബ്രിക്സിലേക്ക് മാറിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കെ ഇത്തരം കാർപ്പറ്റുകൾക്ക് ലോകം കേരളത്തിലേക്ക് വരുന്നു എന്നത് അഭിമാനകരമായ കാര്യമാണ്. മികച്ച ഗുണമേന്മയുള്ള മനോഹരമായ ടെക്സ്റ്റൈൽ മാതൃകകൾ കൂടുതലായി ഉണ്ടാകുന്നതിന് ഈ പുരസ്കാരം പ്രോത്സാഹനമാകുമെന്ന് പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. കേരളത്തിൻ്റെ ടെക്സ്റ്റൈൽ പെരുമ ലോകമാകെ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിന് പിന്നിൽ പ്രവർത്തിച്ച ഡിസൈനർമാരെ അഭിനന്ദിക്കുന്നു.
