ലഹരിയുടെ ഉപയോഗം ജീവിതം തകര്‍ക്കുമ്പോള്‍ പുനര്‍വിചിന്തനത്തിനുള്ള സമയമായെന്ന് ഓര്‍മ്മപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന ഈ ദിനം..
ആധുനിക സമൂഹത്തെ കാർന്നുതിന്നുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ലഹരിയെന്ന വൻ വിപത്തിനെതിരെ രാജ്യാന്തര സമൂഹത്തെ ഉണർത്തുകയെന്ന ലക്ഷ്യവുമായാണ് ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്ര സംഘടന 1987 മുതൽ ജൂൺ 26 ലോക ലഹരി വിരുദ്ധ ദിനമായി ആചരിച്ചു വരുന്നത്.
