The 10th Edition of 'Gift a book, get a Friend', an inter-school comunity volunteering programme organized by the Library and Readers'Club of PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Pattom held at Govt UPS Kusavarkal on July 5, 2024.
Shri. R. Giri Sankaran Thampi, Principal, KV Pattom inaugurated the programme by presenting a set of books to the GUPS Kusavarkal library. Smt. Sheela Kumari, HM, GKUPS welcomed the gathering. Smt. Shyla S, HM, KV Pattom, Shift-I and Smt. Himabindu P., President, PTA, GKUPS offered felicitations. Shri. S. L. Faisal, the coordinator of the programme proposed vote of thanks.
To mark the ocassion a painting by Kumari Riya S.S. was presented to the school leader of GKUPS, Kusavarkal.
Students of KV Pattom gifted books and stationery materials (note books, pens,pencils, instrument boxes, etc), collected through a month-long campaign, to the newly found friends at GKUPS, Kusavarkal. They also visited the renovated school library. A cake was cut to celebrate the joy of the occasion.
The cultural fiesta followed was filled with wonderful performances and mass participation of students from both the partnering schools.
The tenth edition of the popular event, held on the 30th death anniversary of the celebrated Malayalam writer Shri. Vaikom Muhammad Basheer and during the National Reading Month, became memorable with the moments of friendship, sharing and love.
