As part of the Varavayi Vruthiyude Chakravarthi campaign, we launched a new initiative: "Stitch and Switch - It all starts with one bag!" in conjunction with the Swap Shop. This campaign celebrated sustainability in action by converting old clothes into beautiful carry bags, absolutely free of charge. People brought in their used garments, which we then transformed, giving old fabric a new lease on life.Face to face awareness was also Conducted about the the importantance of Haritha Onam and Green protocol during celebrations
Key Highlights
Inauguration 🌸: Smt. Anu Kumari IAS, the District Collector, inaugurated the program.

First Bag Handover 🌱: Sri. Arunraj P V, District Coordinator of the Suchitwa Mission, presented the first eco-friendly carry bag, crafted from used clothes, to the District Collector.

Appreciation πŸ‘: Sri. V.K. Prasanth, MLA, visited the stall and praised the initiative.

Over 50 reusable bags were stitched and distributed using clothes contributed by both staff and the public. This activity marked the successful finale of our Swap Shop @ Collectorate, effectively spreading the message of reuse, responsible consumption, and plastic-free living.

The event was organized by the District Suchitwa Mission & Change Can Change Climate Change Foundation in association with the Collectorate Staff Recreation Club and the Haritha Keralam Mission.

The Swap Fest organized by National College, Manacaud in collaboration with C5 Foundation (Change Can Change Climate Change Foundation) and Climate Action Club turned out to be a big success! πŸ™Œ

πŸ‘•πŸ“š More than 350 clothes and 50 books were contributed by students and the local community. Out of these, 200 clothes and 35 books found new homes with our enthusiastic students – proving that sustainable fashion and shared learning truly work! πŸ’š

The program was inaugurated by Sri. Harshil R Meena IAS, Director, Environment & Climate Change Department, Govt. of Kerala, who symbolically handed over a batch of clothes to one of the students from the fest.

πŸ™ A heartfelt thanks to Dr. S A Shajahan, Principal, National College, for his unwavering support and coordination that made this event possible. Special appreciation also goes to Faculty Smt. Geethu Krishnan and the dedicated staff team of National College for their invaluable efforts in making the program smooth and impactful.

The initiative was guided by C5 Foundation CEO, Sri. Jayakrishnan B S, whose vision for sustainable lifestyles and youth engagement continues to inspire impactful climate action programs across Kerala. 🌱

As part of the Onam Festival 2025, Change Can Change Climate Change Foundation (C5 Foundation), together with the District Administration & Collectorate Staff Recreation Club, launched a Swap Shop at the Collectorate premises.The initiative is supported by District Suchitwa Mission and Haritha Keralam Mission, promoting reuse & responsible consumption during the festive season.

πŸ’š On Day 1 itself, 100+ clothes & 20 books were collected from generous donors, including Collectorate staff.

πŸ™ Special thanks to Sri. Vineeth, Additional District Magistrate, who donated the first batch of clothes, handed over to Smt. Anu Kumari IAS, District Collector during the inauguration.

As part of preparations for the upcoming Swap Fest 2025 on 19th August, the Climate Action Club (CAC) of National College, Ambalathara has been actively engaging in capacity-building and awareness drives under the guidance of the C5 Foundation. πŸ’š

πŸŽ“ Our CEO facilitated two training sessions for CAC members:
1️⃣ Organising the Fest – planning, logistics & ex*****on.
2️⃣ Campaign Strategies – innovative ways to reach peers and the community.

πŸ“… After the second session on 13.08.2025, CAC members rolled out a wave of campaigns:
🏠 Door-to-door awareness in nearby houses
🏫 Classroom-level interactions across the college

πŸ“² Launch of a dedicated Instagram page to lead the digital campaign for Swap Fest!

🌱 Climate Action Begins at All Saints’ College! 🌍

Last Friday marked the inspiring launch of the Climate Action Club at All Saints’ College, powered by Change Can Change Climate Change Foundation in association with the Research Centre and PG Department of Environmental Sciences.

Dr. K Vasuki IAS, Secretary, General Education, officially inaugurated the club by handing over the Registration QR Code to the Prof. Dr. Reshmi R Prasad, Principal, All Saints' College.
Her powerful address reminded us that youth-led climate action is not just the future β€” it is the need of the hour.

Following the inauguration, our CEO Mr. Jayakrishnan B S shared the club’s mission, upcoming activities, and the exciting opportunities awaiting our student climate champions β€” from green campus initiatives to leadership programs that make a real difference.
