As part of World No To***co Day 2026,NSS Unit, DIET Jorhat, Titabar organized an Art Competition among school students of the Preparatory and Middle Stages from the Titabar area on 30 May 2026. The competition aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of to***co and promote a healthy, to***co-free lifestyle. They actively participated and expressed their ideas creatively through artwork. The entries were evaluated, and the results were prepared successfully.

On the occasion of the International Day for Biological Diversity on 22 May 2026, NSS Unit of DIET Jorhat, Titabar initiated the “Water for Birds” campaign to support and protect birds during the summer season. Following the spirit of the previous year’s initiative, volunteers placed water containers at different locations to provide safe drinking water for birds. The initative aimed to promote biodiversity conservation, compassion towards living beings, and environmental awareness among students and the community.

NSS Volunteers of DIET Jorhat, Titabar conducted a cleanliness drive in front of the institute campus on 22 May 2026 as part of their commitment towards community service and environmental awareness. The volunteers participated in cleaning the surrounding area and spreading the message of cleanliness and civic responsibility. The programme reflected the spirit of Swachh Bharat Mission, India and encouraged everyone to maintain a clean and healthy environment.

As a part of the celebration of Independence Day Ceremony (IDC)–2026, a Poster Making Competition was organised by DIET Jorhat in association with NSS unit on 21 May 2026 at 3:15 pm among the students and the Volunteers of the institute. Students and Voluteers actively participated in the competition and prepared posters based on theme National unity and freedom fighters.
The winners of the competition were:

2nd Position: Chayonika Saikia
3rd Position: Kankana Borgohain
3rd Position: Nish*ta Khanikar
The programme concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation and a strong patriotic spirit among the students.

The programme was organised to promote holistic physical, mental, and emotional well-being and to encourage the adoption of a healthy lifestyle through regular yoga practice and physical activity.

As part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, NSS Volunteers of DIET Jorhat, Titabar created and shared an awareness video on 16 May, 2026 to spread the message against drug abuse. Through the video, the volunteers appealed to society, especially the youth, to stay away from drugs and adopt a healthy and responsible lifestyle.

Through creative slogan writing, the volunteers spread the message of a healthy, drug-free society and encouraged youth to stay away from substance abuse.The initiative aimed to promote social awareness and inspire positive lifestyle choices among the community.
