People of Dudu, Latti thanked leadership of National Conference Jb. Dr Farooq Abdullah Sahib, Hon’ble CM Omar Abdullah Sahib, Hon’ble Deputy CM Surinder Choudhary Sahib, District President Sunil Verma Sahib & Party Spokesperson Akash Verma Sahib for sanctioning of their road from Kirchi to Seoj Dhar. The work will commence shortly bringing development to the remote area. This meeting was held as per the direction of Block President Latti Jb. Khalid Hussain Malik. Those who were present were Ghulam Hassan Kanth, Saleem Malik, Gulzar Ahmed Wani & Zahida Kabir.

JKNC Udhampur Delegation Meets Cabinet Minister Javed Ahmed Rana, Raises Key Public Issues of District Udhampur

Udhampur, May 6: A delegation of Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Udhampur, led by District President Sunil Verma called on Cabinet Minister Javed Ahmed Rana and apprised him of several pressing public issues concerning different areas of District Udhampur.

The delegation comprised Senior Vice President Jawed Iqbal, Additional Spokesperson Akash Verma, and Block Secretary Ghordi Jatinder Prashar. During the meeting, the delegation highlighted a wide range of developmental concerns, including drinking water shortages, issues concerning tribal people and other civic problems affecting rural as well as urban areas of the district.

The JKNC leaders urged the Minister to ensure timely intervention for the redressal of public grievances and emphasized the need for accelerating developmental works to improve the quality of life for the people of Udhampur. They also discussed several constituency specific issues and demanded focused attention toward neglected areas.

Cabinet Minister Javed Ahmed Rana gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured them that all genuine issues projected by the party leaders would be addressed on priority. He reiterated the government’s commitment towards equitable development and public welfare, stating that the Omar Abdullah led government remains dedicated to strengthening infrastructure and ensuring that governance reaches every section of society. He emphasized that developmental justice and responsive governance are central to the National Conference’s vision.

Speaking on the occasion, District President Sunil Verma said that JKNC remains firmly connected with the grassroots and is consistently working to highlight the concerns of the common people before the government. He stated that the delegation’s meeting with the Cabinet Minister was aimed at ensuring that the voices of the people of Udhampur are heard and their problems are resolved without delay. Verma expressed confidence that under the leadership of the National Conference government, the developmental aspirations of District Udhampur will receive the necessary attention and action.

Jammu 30 April 2026: A delegation of JKNC Udhampur, led by District President Sunil Verma, met Honorable Minister for Health, Medical Education, and Higher Education, Miss Sakina Itoo-NC Noorabad to expedite the process for the establishment of college at Block Pancheri.

Mr. Sunil Verma stated that since Omar Abdullah’s government came into power, they have been visiting every block and panchayat in Udhampur. Recently, a public meeting in Panchari block raised concerns over the Panchari College. After years of effort, the college was allocated and a site Kainthgali between Panchari and Moungri was chosen. Yet, some people are trying to shift the college, undermining local progress. He urged that the honourable court has already issued an order in regards and public demand be honored.

A memorandum in this regards with all supporting documents was handed over to Honourable Minister to examine the case.

Honourable Minister Sakina Itoo after examining, assured that the people’s genuine demands will be addressed. She affirmed that the government, being people-centric, is committed to their welfare.

Additional Spokesperson Akash Verma emphasized that JKNC has always championed education. Under Omar Abdullah’s leadership, equitable education remains a priority, and the party will ensure swift action to fulfill long-pending demands.

The JKNC delegation included Senior Vice President Jawed Iqbal and Block Secretary Dr. Jitender Prasher, who collectively discussed the issue in detail. The government assured prompt action, reaffirming its commitment to equitable development and prioritizing education across Jammu & Kashmir.

JKNC Udhampur Unit Constitutes Block Chenani Rural Committee to Strengthen Grassroots Organization.

Udhampur, Jammu & Kashmir – The Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Udhampur unit convened a meeting in Block Chenani, attended by all National Conference workers of the block. During the meeting, extensive discussions were held on strengthening the party and expanding its outreach at the grassroots level.

In a unanimous resolution presented to District President of JKNC Udhampur Sh. Sunil Verma, the workers emphasized that Chenani block, with its numerous panchayats, requires two organizational units for effective functioning. Thus, a new Block Chenani Rural was formally constituted. Ramesh Chander Sharma was elected as the President of Block Chenani Rural through a unanimous vote.

The proceedings were overseen by Mr. Sunil Verma, District President of JKNC Udhampur, alongside Additional Spokesperson Mr. Akash Verma. Senior party leader Lal Chand Musafir, former candidate from Chenani Assembly and Vice President of the Udhampur-Reasi Zone, was also present. Other notable attendees included Mehboob Khan Qazi Retd. Tehsildar & District President of JKNC Kissan Cell, Haji Saif Ali, District President of the ST Cell, Mir Qasim, District Vice President, Shamasdin Bali & Attah Mohd. Senior Leaders of National Conference.

The meeting involved the appointment of Ramesh Chander Sharma as Block President of Block Chenani Rural along with Altaf Hussain Bhatt as Senior Vice President, Om Parkash Atri as Block Vice President, Haji Sharief as Block Secretary, Roshan Din & Atter Din as Block Joint Secretaries. Haji Barkat Ali appointed as City President, Rattan Lal as Block President of the SC Cell, Hukam Chand as Block President of the OBC Cell, Captain Ali Mohd Qazi appointed as Block President of the Ex Servicemen Cell. Kamal Singh appointed as Block President of Youth National Conference along with Mohinder Kumar as Block Vice President of YNC Chenani & Satish Rana as Block Secretary of YNC Chenani.

Sunil Verma, District President JKNC Udhampur, while addressing the gathering, reiterated the party’s commitment to strengthening its grassroots structure and ensuring active public participation in organizational activities. He emphasized that the reconstitution of the Block Chenani Rural Committee reflects JKNC’s dedication towards empowering local leadership and addressing the concerns of the people at the grassroots level. He further urged all newly appointed members to work with unity, sincerity, and dedication to uphold the party’s vision and serve the public effectively.

Senior leader & Vice President of Udhampur Reasi Zone Sh. Lal Chand Musafir congratulated the newly elected office bearers, urging them to connect with people at the grassroots level and promote the party’s ideology.

Mr. Akash Verma Additional Spokesperson extended his congratulations to the newly formed Block Chenani Rural team, encouraging them to spread the National Conference’s message door-to-door. He emphasized that under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the government is working transparently to address the backlog of the past decade, ensuring that governance benefits reach every doorstep.

National Conference District Unit Udhampur visited Thildoo, Latti as part of Haq Insaaf Yatra an initiative taken to reach the grass root level of every village & every panchayat & listen to people’s concerns. Present at the event were Sh. Sunil Verma, District President JKNC Udhampur, Akash Verma, Additional Spokesperson, Retired Principal Amarnath, Head of the District SC Cell; Om Prakash, Block President, Udhampur; Dr. Jitender Sharma, Block Secretary, Ghordi Block; Ashwani Prabhakar Incharge IT Cell District Udhampur as well as the local Latti unit led by Block President Khalid Hussain Malik, Block Secretary Saleem Malik, Ghulam Hassan Kanth Senior Leader of the National Conference. Also present were YNC Block President Gulzar Ahmad Wani, District Youth Vice President Dr. Ahatsham Koka, District Joint Secretary Suhail Mir, and District Secretary of the Women’s Wing, Zahida Kabir.

This entire team met with locals and heard their concerns. The occasion also highlighted the reinstatement of a sanctioned road project in the area, which had been stalled by the Bharatiya Janata Party. The National Conference, resumed the project, and the people welcomed them with gratitude, expressing their support for the National Conference in the times ahead. The gathering further reflected a strong sense of trust and confidence among the people towards the policies and governance approach of the National Conference. Residents expressed satisfaction that the commitments made prior to government formation are now being translated into visible action on the ground. Issues concerning basic amenities such as roads, electricity, and water supply were actively discussed, and the assurance of timely redressal was well received by the public.

The overwhelming response and warm reception in Thildoo-Latti stand as a testament to the growing faith of the people in the party’s vision and leadership. The Haq Insaf Yatra continues to serve as a bridge between the people and the administration, ensuring that voices from even the remotest corners are heard and addressed.

During the programme Anant Ram, Retired Teacher unanimously appointed as the Block President of JKNC SC Cell of Block Latti. Many others also joined National Conference in the presence of Sunil Verma District President.

The National Conference Udhampur District team reaffirmed its commitment to continue this outreach across every village, every panchayat, and every section of society, with the sole objective of delivering justice, development, and dignity to all.

Today, Hon’ble MLA from Banihal, Sajjad Shaheen made a brief halt in Udhampur while en route from Jammu to Banihal. During his stop, he visited the residence of Sunil Verma, District President of the National Conference, Udhampur.

Also present on the occasion was Akash Verma, the party’s Additional Spokesperson. The interaction was marked by warmth and camaraderie, culminating in a constructive and engaging discussion, during which the prevailing political scenario of J&K was deliberated upon in detail.
