*Udhampur Police Arrests Absconder Evading Arrest for Three Decades**

Police team of PS Rehambal apprehended an absconder who had been evading arrest for almost 30 years.

The arrested absconder namely *Sham Lal S/O Chuni Lal R/O Thathi Kambal Danga, Tehsil & District Udhampur* was wanted in connection with *FIR No. 179/1995 U/S 341/323 RPC and FIR No. 208/1996 U/S 279/337/304-A RPC of PS Udhampur.*

An arrest warrant under Section 299 CrPC had been issued by the Hon'ble CJM Courts Udhampur, to secure the arrest of the absconder, who had been evading judicial proceedings since 1996.

Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse under the *Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan* Udhampur Police detained one notorious drug peddler namely *Naveel Akram S/o Mohd. Akram Mir R/o Dhanoo, District Udhampur* under the provisions of the PIT-NDPS Act.

The detention order was issued by the competent authority and was executed today. He has been lodged in District Jail, Bhaderwah.

*UDHAMPUR POLICE FOILS TWO BOVINE SMUGGLING ATTEMPTS, RESCUES 24 ANIMALS*

Udhampur Police foiled two bovine smuggling attempts during naka checking at Phalata Chowk and Tikri Naka on NHW, rescuing 24 bovine animals.

During checking, two canters bearing registration Nos. JK03P-9380 and JK02AL-2195 were signaled to stop. However, both drivers abandoned their vehicles and fled from the spot. Upon checking, 12 bovine animals were found loaded in each vehicle (total 24 bovines) and tied with ropes. All the bovines were rescued and both the vehicles have been seized.

Accordingly, two FIR Nos. 122/2026 and 123/2026 under Section 223 BNS and Section 11 PCA Act have been registered at PS Rehambal.

*Two more drug peddlers arrested with he**in in two Separate NDPS Cases by Udhampur Police*

Udhampur, May 29:

Continuing its sustained crackdown against drug trafficking under the *Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan* Udhampur Police have apprehended two drug peddlers in separate operations and recovered he**in from their possession.

*In the first case*, Police Station Majalta intercepted a *Pulsar motorcycle bearing registration No. JK14F-0126* coming from Khoon Dhar road towards Majalta. The rider namely *Irfan Ahmed S/O Mohd Farooq R/O Bakhal Harteryan, Udhampur*, was found in possession of 4.5 grams of he**in.
Accordingly, *FIR No. 83/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Majalta*

*In another case*, *FIR No. 231/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act* has been registered at PS Udhampur against *Satveer Singh S/O Ravinder Singh R/O Kunjwani, Jammu.* During the operation, he**in weighing 4.5 grams along with polypack was recovered.

*Minor Kidnapped Girl Rescued Within Two Hours; Three Accused Apprehended by Udhampur Police*

Today on 25-05-2026, complainant *Sindoor Singh S/o Beli Ram R/o Tikri Pangeri, District Udhampur* lodged a complaint at PS Rehambal stating that his 08-year-old daughter Shwansi Devi was forcibly kidnapped by unknown persons while on her way to school.

Acting swiftly, *FIR No. 114/2026 under Section 137(2) BNS was registered and investigation was taken up.*

A Police team of *PS Rehambal led by SHO Insp. Parshotam Sharma and assisted by IC PP Tikri PSI Rythm Sharma* immediately launched a search operation.

During investigation, the suspected vehicle bearing *Registration No. HP64A-9928* was intercepted at Khoon, Battal and the minor girl was rescued safely within two hours.

Reinforcing its sustained crackdown on drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Udhampur Police (PS Latti) has secured one more order from the Hon’ble Court of JMIC Ramnagar for disposal of a conveyance involved in NDPS case *FIR No. 15/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act.* One Hyundai i20 car bearing registration No. DL7CN 3903, seized in the said case, has been ordered for disposal after due certification of inventory and completion of all legal formalities under Section 52-A of the NDPS Act, with the conveyance to be disposed of through public auction by the competent Drug Disposal Committee, as per provisions of law. *Drug property worth Lakhs of Notorious Narco smuggler Tarlochan Dutt bulldozed at Samroli, Udhampur*

In a decisive action against narco-criminals, District Police Udhampur, in coordination with the District Administration Udhampur, demolished an illegally constructed property worth lakhs belonging to a notorious drug peddler *Tarlochan Dutt S/o Hans Raj, R/o Samroli, Chenani.*

*Tarlochan Dutt* is a habitual offender and has been found involved in *FIR No. 111/2025 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act of Police Station Chenani.* His continued involvement in drug trafficking activities had been under investigation.

During the course of investigation, it was revealed that he had encroached upon state land and constructed commercial structures, including rooms worth lakhs along NH-44 at Samroli, Chenani.

The said illegal property, raised through proceeds of narco trade, was demolished as part of the ongoing *Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan* to dismantle the financial and logistical infrastructure of drug peddlers in the district.

**Udhampur Police secures Third Court Order This week for disposal of seized vehicles in NDPS Cases**

Udhampur, May 22:

Continuing its action against drug trafficking under the *Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan*. Udhampur Police has obtained an order from the *Hon’ble Court of JMIC Majalta* for disposal of *four vehicles seized in different NDPS cases of Police Station Majalta*.

The cases include *FIR No. 47/2026, 69/2026, 63/2026 and 66/2026* under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. The seized vehicles include a *Maruti WagonR (JK02AJ-1833), Maruti Swift (JK16A-9367), Hyundai Verna (JK02BE-7880) and Maruti Alto (JK15B-4295)*, which were used in illegal drug-related activities.

After completing all legal formalities under Section 52-A of the NDPS Act, including certification of inventory, the Hon’ble Court has directed that these vehicles be disposed of through auction by the competent Drug Disposal Committee as per law. The amount realized from the auction shall be deposited in the Government Treasury till final disposal of the case by the Hon’ble Court.

*Udhampur Police Secures Another Court Order for Disposal of 03 Seized Vehicles in Ramnagar NDPS Cases*

Udhampur, May 21:

In a significant action under the Jammu & Kashmir Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan, the Hon’ble Court of Sub Judge Ramnagar has ordered the disposal of three vehicles seized in different NDPS cases of Police Station Ramnagar.

The cases include *FIR No. 54/2026, FIR No. 36/2026 and FIR No. 35/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act, in which one Toyota Galanza (JK14J-7490), one motorcycle Hero Honda Glamour (JK14D-2375) and one scooty Honda Activa 5G (JK14F-8194)* were seized for their alleged involvement in drug-related activities.

After completion of all legal formalities under Section 52-A of the NDPS Act, the Hon’ble Court has directed that these vehicles be disposed of through public auction by the competent Drug Disposal Committee as per rules.
