*Udhampur Police Arrests Absconder Evading Arrest for Over 3 Years*

Police team of PS Rehambal arrested an absconder who had been evading arrest for over three years in a case registered at Police Station Rehambal.

The arrested absconder namely *Dev Lal Bareth S/O Tej Ram Bareth R/O Tehsil Balpur, Chhattisgarh* was wanted in connection with *FIR No. 87/2020 U/S 188/269 IPC of PS Rehambal.*

The accused had been declared an absconder under Section 299 CrPC and warrants had been issued by the *Hon'ble Addl. Special Mobile Magistrate, Udhampur on 17-06-2023* as he had been evading judicial proceedings.

*Udhampur Police Achieves Major Milestones During 100 Days of Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan*

Udhampur, July 20:

Marking 100 days of the *Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan* Udhampur Police has intensified its fight against drug trafficking through sustained enforcement, financial investigation, preventive action and community outreach.

During the campaign, *222 NDPS FIRs* were registered and *249 drug peddlers arrested.* Udhampur Police seized *1.848 kg he**in, 1.808 kg g***a and 50.62 grams charas* valued at approximately *₹5.62 crore.*

Financial action led to the attachment of *14 immovable properties worth ₹7.58 crore, 20 movable properties worth ₹1.15 crore, besides freezing 73 bank accounts containing ₹5.77 lakh*. Preventive action included *09 PIT-NDPS detentions, while 02 contractor licences were cancelled.*

Police also disposed of huge quantities of seized narcotics *under Section 52-A NDPS Act*, destroyed illegal poppy cultivation over *01 Kanal 08 Marlas, conducted 193 awareness programmes covering 22,276 participants, and demolished 06 encroached properties of drug accused in 05 FIRs valued at ₹95.60 lakh.*

*INTER-STATE DRUG PEDDLER ARRESTED WITH COMMERCIAL QUANTITY OF HE**IN AT MAJALTA BY UDHAMPUR POLICE*

Under the ongoing *Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan*, Udhampur Police achieved another major success against drug trafficking by apprehending an inter-state drug peddler during routine naka checking at Battal Naka, Majalta. A vehicle coming from Ramkot towards Battal was intercepted and subjected to search.

The accused was identified as *Sharif S/o Mannu Khan R/o Nawapind, Amritsar, Punjab.*

During the search of the vehicle bearing Registration No. DL3CCA0840, *635 grams of he**in (chitta)*, falling under commercial quantity, was recovered from his possession.

The vehicle used for transporting the contraband has also been seized.

Director General of Police, J&K, Sh. Nalin Prabhat-IPS, today visited Udhampur and reviewed the security, traffic management and pilgrim facilitation arrangements along NH-44 for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.

During the visit, the DGP interacted with officers and personnel of Udhampur Police and other security agencies deployed along the Yatra route. He reviewed the security preparedness and appreciated the seamless inter-agency coordination, professionalism and unwavering commitment of all personnel towards ensuring a safe, secure and incident-free Yatra.

He accompanied by Team Udhampur on NH-44, highlighted the spirit of "One Team. One Mission.", underscoring the collective resolve of all agencies working shoulder to shoulder for the successful conduct of the Yatra.

श्री अमरनाथ जी यात्रा 2026 के श्रद्धालुओं के लिए महत्वपूर्ण सूचना

माननीय सर्वोच्च न्यायालय के निर्देशानुसार यात्रा मार्ग पर प्रतिदिन यात्रा करने वाले श्रद्धालुओं की अधिकतम संख्या निर्धारित की गई है। श्रद्धालुओं की सुरक्षा एवं यात्रा के सुचारु संचालन हेतु इस सीमा का पालन करना अनिवार्य है।

श्रद्धालुओं की सुविधा के लिए यात्रा प्रारंभ होने से काफी पहले ही देश भर में बैंक शाखाओं एवं ऑनलाइन माध्यम से Advance Registration की सुविधा उपलब्ध कराई गई थी। अधिकांश श्रद्धालुओं ने इस सुविधा का लाभ उठाकर अपना registration पहले ही करा लिया है।

इसीलिए तत्काल (Tatkal) registration की slots अत्यंत सीमित हैं | सभी श्रद्धालुओं से अनुरोध है की वे अपना advance registration करने के पश्चात ही जम्मू व कश्मीर आएं |

इसीलिए प्रतिदिन बड़ी संख्या में बिना registration के पहुंचने वाले हजारों श्रद्धालुओं को तत्काल सुविधा के अंतर्गत adjust करना संभव नहीं है। अतः ऐसे श्रद्धालुओं से अनुरोध है कि वे अपने क्रम (Turn) की प्रतीक्षा करें तथा प्रशासन द्वारा उपलब्ध कराए जाने वाले तिथि के अनुसार ही यात्रा करें।

यह भी देखा गया है कि अनेक registered श्रद्धालु अपने registration date से पूर्व यात्रा हेतु जम्मू और कश्मीर पहुंच रहे हैं। किसी भी श्रद्धालु को उसकी registration date से पहले यात्रा की अनुमति नहीं दी जाएगी। कृपया अपने registered date के अनुसार ही यात्रा के लिए आएं।

जो श्रद्धालु बिना registration के जम्मू व कश्मीर पहुचे हैं, उनसे पुनः अनुरोध है कि वे अपने क्रम (Turn) की प्रतीक्षा करें।

निश्चिंत रहें, सभी श्रद्धालुओं को यात्रा करने का अवसर मिलेगा, परंतु यह निर्धारित प्रक्रिया एवं उपलब्ध क्षमता के अनुसार ही संभव होगा।

*Notorious Drug Peddler Rampuri (Ramnagar) Detained under PIT-NDPS Act by Udhampur Police*

Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse under the *Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan* Udhampur Police detained one notorious drug peddler namely *Rampuri S/o Chuni Lal R/o w no. 02 Ramnagar, District Udhampur* under the provisions of the PIT-NDPS Act.

The detention order was issued by the competent authority and was executed today. He has been lodged in District Jail, Bhaderwah, Doda.
