يقول ابن القيم -رحمه الله

فمن أهمل تعليم ولده ما ينفعه وتركه سدى فقد أساء غاية الإساءة، وأكثر الأولاد إنما جاء فسادهم من قِبل الآباء وإهمالهم لهم، وترك تعليمهم فرائض الدين وسُننه، فأضاعوهم صغارًا، فلم ينتفعوا بأنفسهم، ولم ينفعوا آباءهم كبارًا۔
Whoever neglects to teach their child what is beneficial and leaves them to run wild has done them a great disservice. Most children's corruption stems from their parents' neglect, failing to teach them the religious obligations and traditions, abandoning them when they were young, so they did not benefit themselves, nor did they benefit their parents when they grew up."This is a famous quote from Ibn al-Qayyim regarding the responsibility of parents in raising children ۔
جس نے اپنے بچے کو فائدہ مند چیز سکھانے میں کوتاہی کی اور انہیں جنگل میں بھاگنے کے لیے چھوڑ دیا اس نے ان کی بہت بڑی برائی کی ہے۔ زیادہ تر بچوں کی خرابی ان کے والدین کی غفلت، انہیں مذہبی فرائض اور روایات کی تعلیم دینے میں ناکامی، جوانی میں ان کو ترک کرنے سے پیدا ہوتی ہے، اس لیے انہوں نے اپنے آپ کو کوئی فائدہ نہیں پہنچایا، اور جب وہ بڑے ہوئے تو ان کے والدین کو فائدہ نہیں پہنچا۔" یہ ابن القیم کا ایک مشہور قول ہے جو بچوں کی پرورش میں والدین کی ذمہ داری کے بارے میں ہے..
