With the ongoing pandemic that has disrupted lives across nations, the clarion call is to , especially for communities which have been rendered more vulnerable economically and socially.

Childline Ukhrul has been engaged in helping the economically impoverished families through its emergency relief distribution drives, besides reaching out to children to teach adequate safety measures for self-care. All of this to be able to from the fatal pandemic.

Launched in April 2019, Childline Ukhrul team has striven to provide assistance to children whose rights have been violated.

Two days from now, 10th December '20 shall be observed as - this year's theme being "Recover Better - Stand Up For Human Rights." Functioning as a 24*7 helpline service (dial-up no.1098), the Childline Ukhrul service team was operational during the total lockdown period too. A few glimpses of the team in action..

team brought relief packages of dry ration to 63 families, last month, who were hard-hit by the pandemic-induced strictest lockdown in Manipur.

The team strives to reach out to more families, for smiles mean a lot to us..

The lock-down period has not deterred the team from reaching out to children either at their homes or at children's homes for their safety. The team spread awareness on the fatal virus to at least 2000 children, besides approaching 5 children's homes. Sanitizers and liquid hand wash, face masks and hand gloves too were distributed.

Exactly a week gone by since the observance of 'World Day Against Trafficking In Persons'..

Drawing on local art and engaging local artistes to broaden the reach of social messages, we are proud yet humbled to present a rendition penned by one of our team members, which is sung mellifluously by the four talented artists from Manipur, , , and . The song is set to Sorri Senjam's harmonious music.
This soulful number carries the much needed awareness on one of the most nefarious organised crimes of the world - human trafficking.

Childine Ukhrul team in collaboration with the district's ICDS (Integrated Child Development Scheme, GOI) spear-heading the awareness drive on COVID-19 for children at the State's children home for girls. The team also provided PPE kits to all.

Amidst the lockdown, Childline Ukhrul team has succeeded in reaching out to close to 300 children and 200 adults as target population for spreading the messages on self-care during the pandemic. Educating the children was specially important due to their fragile immunity and this has been made possible through door-to-door visits by the team. Hats off !!
