The third batch of the PRERANA Master Trainer Training Programme for Guardian Teachers, an initiative of the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India, was conducted on 4–5 June 2026 at NERIE, NCERT, Shillong.
The two-day programme brought together 24 Guardian Teachers from the North Eastern Region to strengthen their understanding of the PRERANA Curriculum and its implementation in schools. The training focused on experiential, value-based, and learner-centred approaches to support the holistic development of students.
Participants engaged in orientation sessions, curriculum exploration, group activities, reflective discussions, peer learning, module presentations, and school-level implementation planning. These activities enabled teachers to develop practical strategies for integrating PRERANA into classroom practices.
The programme was facilitated by Shri Amit Kumar Mehta and Shri Atul Sidana, whose interactive sessions highlighted the transformative potential of experiential learning.
Prof. Balaiada R. Dkhar, NERIE, Shillong, visited the programme, interacted with participants, and shared insights on the effective implementation and educational significance of PRERANA.
The training was coordinated by Dr. Vareishang Tangpu, Associate Professor, NERIE, and Dr. B. Umesh Kumar Sharma, Assistant Professor, NERIE, whose efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the programme.
The programme concluded with active participation, meaningful reflection, and a renewed commitment among Guardian Teachers to promote values-based and experiential learning, strengthening their role as mentors in nurturing responsible, reflective, and socially conscious learners through PRERANA.
