The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) has achieved a significant milestone in its rail connectivity journey with the departure of its first long-haul Double-Stack (D/S) rake on the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC).

Departing from JNPA , the rake carried 360 TEUs of import cargo, received through BMCTPL, operated by PSA India, and was bound for CGMV.

The commencement of long-haul Double-Stack operations will enable higher cargo volumes to move in a single rake, enhancing rail freight capacity and operational efficiency. The improved connectivity will facilitate faster evacuation of import containers, reduced import dwell time and shorter transit times to inland destinations.

The milestone further strengthens JNPA’s integration with the Dedicated Freight Corridor network, enhancing connectivity with key inland locations and supporting smoother, more predictable cargo movement across the logistics chain.

With continued investment in rail infrastructure, multimodal connectivity and efficient cargo evacuation, JNPA is advancing its vision of a faster, smarter, more reliable and competitive logistics network for India’s EXIM trade.

From the gateway port to the heart of India — moving cargo faster, further and more efficiently.
