The Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM), Uttarkashi invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced Male/Female Mountaineering Instructors for engagement as Guest Instructors on a need-based basis for conducting various Mountaineering, Adventure and Special Courses.

🔹 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: Experienced Mountaineering Instructors & Ex-Servicemen
🔹 𝗔𝗴𝗲: Preferably not more than 40 years

On the proud occasion of Independence Day, the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering is delighted to announce the successful summit of 𝐌𝐭. 𝐊𝐮𝐧 (𝟕,𝟎𝟕𝟕 𝐦) as part of the Mt. Nun–Kun Mountaineering Expedition.

At 1100 hrs on 15 August 2026, the expedition team successfully stood atop the summit of Mt. Kun, achieving this remarkable feat through exceptional determination, technical proficiency, teamwork and an unwavering mountaineering spirit in challenging high-altitude conditions.

Sport Climbing Course No. 14 in Action!

The trainees of Sport Climbing Course No. 14 at the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering are actively building their foundation in vertical adventure and climbing skills.

From learning the basics of rock climbing and rappelling to mastering essential knots, rope techniques and climbing practices, the trainees are gaining hands-on experience under expert instruction.

Every climb is a lesson in technique, confidence, discipline and teamwork—preparing them to safely explore the vertical world.

Our 𝐌𝐭. 𝐍𝐮𝐧 & 𝐌𝐭. 𝐊𝐮𝐧 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 team takes on an acclimatization walk—adapting to the altitude, building endurance and preparing for the challenges that lie ahead.

We are proud to announce the successful completion of 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 – 𝐒𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨. 𝟏𝟑 conducted from 13 July to 23 July 2026 at the NIM Uttarkashi.

Over the course of the training, 40 participants underwent rigorous training in 𝐁𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐠 and gained invaluable outdoor climbing experience at the Tekhla Rock Climbing Area. Through determination, discipline and perseverance, the trainees enhanced their technical skills, physical endurance and confidence on the rock.

The course was conducted under the expert guidance and mentorship of NIM Instructors Mr. Shivraj Singh Panwar, Mr Hira Lal, Mr. Gaurav Panwar, Mr Puru Phailok, Ms Priyanka Adhikari and our Nursing Assistant Mr Shailendra Semwal whose dedication, professionalism and technical expertise played a pivotal role in shaping the participants into safer and more competent climbers.

Congratulations to all the successful trainees for their dedication and achievements. We wish them many safe climbs and greater adventures ahead.

𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐅𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠!

The Sport Climbing Course Serial No. 13 at NIM Uttarkashi is progressing with great enthusiasm and energy.

The trainees are undergoing rigorous and systematic training in all three disciplines of sport climbing—𝐁𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐠—under the expert guidance of NIM instructors. The training is designed to enhance their strength, agility, endurance, technical skills and confidence on the wall.

In addition to intensive indoor training, the trainees are also gaining invaluable outdoor climbing experience at the Tekhla Rock Climbing Area, where they are learning to apply their skills on natural rock in real climbing conditions.

We are proud to announce that NIM Instructors 𝐌𝐫. 𝐒𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐯 𝐑𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐚, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐰𝐚𝐥, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐲𝐚 𝐑𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐫. 𝐊𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐥 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚, has successfully summited 𝐌𝐭. 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠 (𝟔,𝟓𝟗𝟑 𝐦).

Demonstrating exceptional endurance, teamwork and mountaineering skills, the team completed the entire expedition—from Base Camp to the summit and back to Base Camp—in just five days, reflecting meticulous planning, technical proficiency and remarkable physical fitness.

NIM congratulates the entire team on this outstanding accomplishment and wishes them continued success in inspiring the next generation of mountaineers.
