🪨 Kidney Stone diagnosed? Does it always mean surgery?
Not necessarily. The treatment of a kidney stone depends on two key factors: its size and location.
In this video, Dr. Anant Dixit, Consultant Urologist at Heritage Hospitals, explains:
👉 Up to 5 mm: May pass naturally through urine
👉 5 to 10 mm: May require medication and medical management
👉 More than 10 mm: Surgery may be required in many cases
👉 Location of the stone also plays an important role in deciding treatment
So, a kidney stone diagnosis does not automatically mean an operation. The right treatment depends on your individual condition and should be decided after proper evaluation by a Urologist.
