::::EVENT CONCEPT AND SUMMARY::::
1) The Planning and Development Summit 2014 aims to simulate the workings of the Planning Commission of India. We are looking to invite an elite pool of well informed representatives of the youth to progressively ideate and formulate Government policy which will tackle burning issues and crippling problems faced by certain core sectors of our country.
2) Each
sector will comprise of a select committee of no more than 8 members. The committees will be mentored by an experienced and distinguished Individual who will guide the committee representatives through their policy decisions throughout the event.
3) The delegates are expected to come prepared with their respective policies pertaining to their agenda prior to the start of the summit. These must be practical, feasible and realizable plans. They will then interact with their respective committee mentors who will be able to guide them toward a more comprehensive and structured policy plan. The agenda details for each sector have been outlined on our website under the icon titled "The Sectors".
4) The agenda of each sector committee shall be discussed in turn in an open forum. The policies of each committee member will be presented to all representatives for scrutiny, criticism and feedback.
5) After each sector discussion is complete, the forum will vote on the policies put forth by each sector as a whole.
6) Finally, a draft "white paper" comprising the consolidated policy of all sectors shall be presented to a panel whose members will be from the Government of India and the Planning Commission. The panel will give all the representatives constructive feedback regarding their policy decisions.
7) This Summit offers all those who are a part of it, the unique chance to gain a first hand experience of understanding how the planning and policy making process in India works. The representatives will get a taste of the hurdles and difficulties faced by those who hold the responsibility of shaping the future of a 1.2 billion strong nation.
8) Our larger vision via this summit is to inspire the next set of leaders for this country who would want to actively contribute to this meticulous process and thereby lead the way to a better future.
