*Vikarabad Police Shine at State-Level Police Sports: SP Smt. Sneha Mehra, IPS, Congratulates the Winners*
Recently, at Cyberabad, the *4th Telangana State Police Games & Sports Meet–2026* was organized. Participating on behalf of the Charminar Zone, district police officers and staff displayed exceptional talent and won medals. On this occasion, Vikarabad District Superintendent of Police *Smt. Sneha Mehra, IPS*, today specially felicitated the medal winners at the District Police Office.
In these competitions, sportspersons from Vikarabad district participated across various sporting disciplines and secured a total of *15 medals* (*1 Gold, 7 Silver, and 7 Bronze*), thereby bringing pride to the district at the state level.
Notably, in the Athletics category, *K. Swathi* won the *Gold Medal in High Jump*, becoming a source of pride for the district.
The *Silver Medal* winners include: *CI Naveen Kumar (DCRB)* in Badminton Doubles; *K. Swathi* in Weightlifting (60 kg); *B. Narsimhulu* in Arm Wrestling (100 kg); *Mahender* in Arm Wrestling (85 kg); *Srinivas* in Arm Wrestling (60 kg) and Taekwondo (60 kg); and *Rehmatullah* in Boxing (65 kg).
The *Bronze Medal* winners include: *B. Kavya* in Arm Wrestling (65 kg); *Swathi* in Arm Wrestling (55 kg); *Mansoor* in Water Sports (Canoeing – 200 meters); *Ravinder* in Swimming (100 meters); *Jai Anand* in Hammer Throw; *Prakash* in Boxing (70 kg); and the *Women’s Kho-Kho Team, which secured **3rd place*.
Addressing the winners, the SP said, “Despite being constantly engaged in maintaining law and order and facing significant pressure in the line of duty, dedicating time to sports and winning medals is truly commendable. Along with professional skills, physical fitness and mental resilience are essential for a police officer. Sports not only enhance these qualities but also instill teamwork and discipline. More than winning or losing, participation and proving one’s ability are important in sports. This victory is not just yours; it is a matter of pride for the Charminar Zone and the entire Vikarabad District Police.” She further stated that the medals achieved by the winners would inspire fellow staff and assured full support from the district police department to sportspersons in the future, expressing the hope that they would continue to strive to make the district’s name resonate at the national level as well.
During this felicitation programme, *District Welfare RI David Vijay Kumar* and *DCRB Inspector Naveen Kumar*, along with other police personnel, participated and extended their congratulations to the winners.
