ards West from District Headquarter Churachandpur and 155 kilometres from Imphal, the State Capital of Manipur. National Highway 102B runs through the village and was known by its local name Guite Road by the inhabitants of Guite Kual and people living in the Hills. Mualnuam Village pin-code is 795139 and postal Head Office is at Singngat initially but now the village has a Post Office on its own which is yet to be functional. Mualnuam is surrounded by Songtal Village on the Southern side and Thuangtam village on the Eastern side. Dialkhai and Mualpheng share its Western boundaries. At the entrance of the village, the towering Bungkawl welcomes you, the range extends till as far as Songtal Kawl/ Mountain. On the right-side of the entrance, one can see Mualnuam Kawl/ Mountain and on the left, Bungkawl ranges can be seen. The beauty of these mountain ranges can be compared with the Nilgiri Ranges, different biodiversity life exist here which include some rare species of wild animals like the Barking Deer, Red Deer, Hornbill, Monkeys,etc. In the near future, these mountain ranges can be developed for different adventure sports like para gliding, rock climbing, cable car, bungee-jumping etc etc. Tuivai and Tuima River will be an ideal place for people who love river-rafting and different water sports. The meeting of this two big rivers makes an interesting sight to see as the lagoons form by them makes in the river bank makes it an ideal pace for picnic spot where in people can go fishing, catching prawns, snails, crabs etc. Mualnuam is one of the biggest village in Guite Kual or in the Southern Part of Churachandpur District, Manipur connected by Guite Road (NH 102B) from Churachandpur, the District Headquarter which goes till as far as Saiha District Headquarter in Mizoram and is one of the most important route today having connection with Mizoram through Guite Road, which can be used as an alternate route in case of a bandh or an economic blockade in Dimapur Road (NH-36) and Jiribam Road. In the year 1977-78, Mualnuam village was declared by the State Government as one SDC Cirlce but due to lack of facilities and creation of different post but lack of man power and high-handedness of the state government, it was non-functional till then. In 2013 Mualnuam village was officially declared as a full-fledged Sub-Division consisting of eighteen (18) villages namely :MUALNUAM, SONGTAL, THUANGTAM, KHUANGGIN, PHAIPHENG, BUALTAANG, THIEKBUNG, UMTAL, KAIHLAM, SINZAWL, SINJANG, MUALHOIHCHIANG, MAITE, TUILI LEIBUL, BUALTAANG, PHUNCHONGJANG, PHAILENBUNG, P. MUNPI, MUALKUI. In Mualnuam, there are more than 200 families/ households residing in it. She has a population of around1400 of which 714 are males while 686 are females. (Census 2011). In Mualnuam Village population of children with age 0-6 is 210 which makes up 15.00 % of total population of village. Average S*x Ratio of Mualnuam village is 961 which is lower than Manipur state average of 985. Child S*x Ratio for the Mualnuam as per census is 842, lower than Manipur average of 930. Mualnuam Village has higher literacy rate compared to Manipur. In 2011, literacy rate of Mualnuam village was 82.10 % compared to 76.94 % of Manipur. In Mualnuam Male literacy stands at 88.17 % while female literacy rate was 75.93 %. Lousau pau is the local dialect that needs no introduction among the Paite due to its popularity.
