Last week, Ambassador Rochus Pronk visited Kapita in Baghdad, an Orange Corners partner supporting Iraq’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem.
During this visit, he also met with the Iraq Venture Capital (IVP) team and spoke with 15 inspiring entrepreneurs from across the ecosystem.
Their ideas, ambitions and experiences gave valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges facing Iraqi startups today.

في الأسبوع الماضي، زار السفير روخوس برونك شركة كابيتا في بغداد، إحدى الجهات الشريكة لبرنامج Orange Corners، والتي تدعم منظومة ريادة الأعمال المتنامية في العراق.

وخلال الزيارة، التقى أيضاً بفريق Iraq Venture Capital (IVP)، وتحدث مع مجموعة من رواد الأعمال من مختلف مجالات منظومة ريادة الأعمال في العراق.

وقد أتاحت هذه اللقاءات فرصة للاستماع إلى أفكارهم وطموحاتهم وتجاربهم، والتعرّف بشكل أوسع على الفرص والتحديات التي تواجه الشركات الناشئة العراقية اليوم.

Thanks to UN and local partners, vulnerable families in Duhok receive much needed support. Over 220 complex child protection cases are successfully managed and over 130 social workers now actively go out to keep children in school. Thanks to the PROSPECTS partnership, UNICEF, UNHCR and the World Bank support refugee families alongside vulnerable groups, such as people with disabilities.

🇪🇺,🇩🇪 and 🇳🇱 support the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs in Duhok.

بدعم من 🇩🇪 🇳🇱 🇪🇺 و بفضل جهود الأمم المتحدة والشركاء المحليين، تتلقى العديد من الأسر المحتاجة في محافظة دهوك الدعم من خلال مشروع “بروسبيكتس”. قدمت هذه المبادرة الدعم و الحماية لأكثر من ٢٢٠ طفلاً تمت أدارتها بنجاح و يعمل حاليًا أكثر من ١٣٠ أخصائي اجتماعي على ضمان استمرار الأطفال في الدراسة. إن مشروع بروسبيكتس يقدم الدعم للاجئين و الفئات الأكثر احتياجاً للدعم في المجتمع و من ضمنهم الأشخاص ذوي الإحتياجات الخاصة.

يتم تنفيذ المبادرة بالتعاون مع وزارة العمل والشؤون الاجتماعية في محافظة دهوك.

Last week, H.E. Rochus Pronk, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Iraq, presented a copy of his credentials to H.E. Fuad Hussein, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq.
During the meeting, Ambassador Pronk reaffirmed the Netherlands’ commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Iraq and to expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest. 🇳🇱🇮🇶



في الأسبوع الماضي، قدّم سعادة السيد روخوس برونك، سفير مملكة هولندا الجديد لدى جمهورية العراق، نسخةً من أوراق اعتماده إلى معالي السيد فؤاد حسين، وزير خارجية جمهورية العراق.

وخلال اللقاء، أكد السفير برونك حرص هولندا على تعزيز علاقاتها الثنائية مع العراق وتوسيع آفاق التعاون بين البلدين في مختلف المجالات، بما يخدم مصالحهما المشتركة. 🇳🇱🇮🇶

Yesterday, we marked the final day of H.E. Janet Alberda as Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Iraq. 🇳🇱🇮🇶

We thank Ambassador Alberda for two remarkable years of dedicated service, leadership, and commitment to strengthening the partnership between the Netherlands and Iraq.

Freeform of religion and belief is a strong pillar in NL’s human rights foreign policy objectives. We were reminded of its importance, during a meaningful visit to Mosul. At this ancient location, communities of various faiths have lived together for millennia. Visiting the al-Nouri mosque and the Immaculate and Saint Thomas churches, we were reminded of the resilience of the country and its rich religious diversity and strong tradition of coexistence.

The Netherlands remains committed to promoting and protecting this mutual respect as part of Iraq’s cultural heritage. 🇳🇱🤝🇮🇶

حرية الدين والمعتقد تُعدّ ركيزةً أساسية في سياسة مملكة هولندا الخارجية في مجال حقوق الإنسان.
