The German Embassy in Baghdad and the Consulate General in Erbil are currently preparing to reopen their consular and visa sections to visitors.

During this transitional period, the consular and visa sections both in Baghdad and Erbil will remain closed to visitors.

As soon as a date for the reopening has been decided , it will be announced on the homepage of our website www.irak.diplo.de , as well as on all social media channels of the Embassy and the Consulate General.

يوم عالمي للنحل سعيد! 🐝 #أنقذوا النحل

يعتبر النحل ملقح حيوي، حيث يلعب دوراً أساسياً في
الحفاظ على التنوع البيولوجي وضمان الأمن الغذائي. فان صحة النحل من صحة الطبيعة!
ولهذا، فإن حماية النحل تعني حماية النظم البيئية.

قبل فترة، زار السفير الالماني، د. دانييل كريبر مشروعاً لتربية النحل مدعوماً من الوكالة الألمانية للتعاون الدولي. يتم من خلال هذا المشروع تدريب مربي النحل المحليين على إنتاج العسل بطرق مقاومة لتغير المناخ. ويعتبر هذا المشروع مثالاً مهماً عن كيفية تضافر الابتكار والتقاليد لبناء مصادر الرزق.

A while ago the Ambassador visited a GIZ supported beekeeping initiative, where local beekeepers are being trained in climate-resilient honey production. A powerful example of how innovation and tradition can work together to build livelihoods.
