🇬🇧 The national sport "Glíma" is one of the oldest wrestling sports alive. It has grown with our nation from early on. Next weekend will be important for this sport, the Iceland tournament will be held in the new sports center in Budardalur, where women compete for the Freyja amulet and the men for the belt of Grettir, names referring to the sagas and the poetic Edda.

If you want to know more about this ancient sport, you can visit us during a festival (July), for the young people in the local Glíma association are usually happy to join us there and practice with you!

🇮🇸 Sum dýrin í Dalnum sjást ekki, nema sem spor, þar á meðal er tófan, sem er um allt að leita sér ætis á þessum tíma og gaggar á tilvonandi maka, svo bergmálar um allt.
Hrossin eru hins vegar mjög sýnileg, standa oftast í hóp, mjög hærð og pattaraleg ❤

Our neighbours the horses, are, however, very visible. They are hairy and chubby. in the winter. ❤
