In August, the northern lights begin to return to Iceland ✨

The aurora doesn't disappear during summer. It remains active above the Earth, but the bright nights make it impossible to see.

As darkness slowly returns in late summer, the first displays become visible again.

For the first time in nearly 600 years, Reykjavík experienced a total solar eclipse 🌑✨

For a few unforgettable minutes, daylight faded, the city grew dark, and we all looked to the sky together.

From Perlan, we watched this rare celestial event unfold above Reykjavík - surrounded by excitement, wonder, and people sharing an experience that will stay with us for years to come.

A historic day. A moment we won’t forget 💙

What does a solar eclipse actually feel like? 🌘

For a few minutes in Reykjavík, the daylight changed, the world looked different, and everyone stopped in awe.

And then, almost as quickly as it began, the light returned. It was the shortest minute in our lives!

There’s something surreal about watching the daylight change to darkness in the middle of the day ✨

Tonight marks the peak of the Perseid meteor shower ☄️

Every August, Earth passes through a trail of dust left behind by Comet Swift-Tuttle. As these tiny particles enter the atmosphere, they burn up and create the streaks of light known as meteors.

In Iceland, the Perseids arrive just as the nights begin to darken again after summer.
