Today marks the second International Day for Dialogue Among Civilizations. As the initiator of the Day, China stands ready to work with Iceland and all other countries to enhance mutual understanding and trust through dialogue, build solidarity and consensus through exchanges, and work toward a brighter future for all humanity.

After travelling 7,777 kilometres from Reykjavík to Shanghai, Leon finally met his online friend Jared. Together, they explored one of the world’s largest cities, discovering hidden playgrounds, unexpected adventures and the vibrant spirit of modern China.

What is the biggest takeaway from the historic meeting between President Xi Jinping and President Trump last month? It surely is the new positioning of China-US relations. President Xi Jinping and President Trump agreed on a new vision of building a constructive China-U.S. relationship of strategic stability. This will provide strategic guidance for China-U.S. relations over the next three years and beyond.

On May 25, President Xi Jinping held talks with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, who is on a state visit to China, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. President Vučić said, China, as a major country, has always treated smaller countries with equality and respect, and abided by international law, setting a good example for the world.

Ambassador He Rulong and his team visited the municipality of Þingeyjarsveit, and met with Chairman Knútur Jónasson of the municipal council and his team. They talked about the direct flight and its positive impact on local economy.

A stable China-US cooperation benefits the whole world. President Xi Jinping and President Trump agreed on a new vision of building a constructive China-U.S. relationship of strategic stability. This will provide strategic guidance for China-U.S. relations over the next three years and beyond.

Constructive strategic stability means positive stability with cooperation as the mainstay, healthy stability with competition within proper limits, constant stability with manageable differences, and lasting stability with expectable peace.

President Xi Jinping held talks with U.S. President Donald J. Trump.

President Xi noted that transformation not seen in a century is accelerating across the globe, and the international situation is fluid and turbulent. The world has come to another crossroads. Can China and the United States overcome the Thucydides Trap and create a new paradigm of major-country relations? Can we meet global challenges together and provide greater stability for the world? Can we build a bright future together for our bilateral relations in the interest of the well-being of the two peoples and the future of humanity? These are the questions vital to history, to the world, and to the people. They are the questions of our times that the leaders of major countries need to answer together.

President Xi stressed that the two countries have more common interests than differences, success in one is an opportunity for the other, and a stable bilateral relationship is good for the world. We should be partners, not rivals. We should help each other succeed and prosper together, and find the right way for major countries to get along well with each other in the new era. I look forward to our discussions on major issues important to our two countries and the world, and working together with you to set the course and steer the giant ship of China-U.S. relations, so as to make 2026 a historic, landmark year that opens up a new chapter in China-U.S. relations.

Ambassador He Rulong and his wife attended the opening of an Icelandic exhibition: A Voyage in History - The Bridal Costume. This is truly one of the most magnificent bridal costumes in Iceland’s history. They were delighted to see so many supporters of the revival of Icelandic costumes at the scene.

Warm congratulations to both the Chinese men's and women's table tennis teams for claiming the titles at the 2026 ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships in London. There are many table tennis lovers in Iceland and some of them had even been to China for trainings and interacted with some of the top-notch Chinese palyers.
