Ambassador Jenny Hill was delighted to meet with Justin R Langan, Young Professional for Indigenous Arctic Affairs at the Arctic Circle Secretariat, who is coordinating the participation of Indigenous youth from Arctic regions at the in , 8-10 October 2026.

Supported by the Government of 's Global Arctic Leadership Initiative, this effort includes funding for eight circumpolar Arctic youth, enhanced on-site youth programming, and the Youth Lounge at the Assembly.

Looking forward to seeing Indigenous youth leadership take center stage in Arctic dialogue. 🌎❄️🤝

Ambassador Jenny Hill was delighted to meet members of the Scout contingent visiting for the 2026 Icelandic National Jamboree World Scouting. 🇨🇦🇮🇸

With nearly 400 Canadian Scouts and leaders taking part, the Jamboree is a wonderful opportunity for young people to build international friendships, develop leadership skills, and experience the global spirit of scouting.

Ambassador Jenny Hill joined representatives of the Canadian Coast Guard and the Landhelgisgæsla Íslands/Icelandic Coast Guard this week aboard the CCGS Louis S. St-Laurent in Reykjavík to advance the strong collaboration between our two Coast Guards, established through a Letter of Intent signed in December 2025. The engagement provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on maritime operations, Arctic cooperation, and shared priorities in the North Atlantic.

Once it leaves Iceland, the CCGS Louis S. St-Laurent will join up with the Swedish Icebreaker Oden and head up to the Arctic Ocean, where Canadian scientists and crews are mapping the seafloor to help define the outer limits of Canada's continental shelf under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and contributing to international efforts to improve our understanding of the ocean floor.

The visit reinforced the growing partnership between and and our shared commitment to maritime safety, environmental stewardship, scientific cooperation, and operational readiness in the North Atlantic and Arctic.
