The Community of Menningarsendiherrar—Cultural Ambassadors are conducting a campaign until Election Day to encourage Icelandic citizens with foreign backgrounds to exercise their right to vote!
There is a reason behind the campaign: In the last parliamentary elections in 2021, 42% of those who exercised their right to vote had a foreign background, compared to 83% with a native background only.

Residents wanted
Do you want to influence City services?

Have you used any City services and have ideas on how we could improve them? To provide good services, it's vital we understand the experiences of the people using them. This way, we can do better and tailor services to the different needs of residents. We are, therefore, looking for interested people who live in Reykjavík and want to make a real impact on their city.

Sammála is a new project by the City of Reykjavík that connects children whose mother tongue is Icelandic with children learning Icelandic. The children learn through puzzles and games, and the aim is to increase their language skills and relationships.

Sammála is part of a 300 million ISK joint project between the City of Reykjavík and Bloomberg Philanthropies, whose representatives visited Vesturbæjarskóli this morning to familiarize themselves with the project.

Intercultural Cities / Cités interculturelles
