2023 was the warmest year on record, and 2024 could possibly be even warmer, confirms the World Meteorological Organization.

The Intergovernment Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)'s Synthesis Report, released in March 2023, shows that every increment of warming results in rapidly escalating compounding and cascading hazards and related losses & damages.

More intense heatwaves, heavier rainfall & other weather extremes further increase risks for human health & ecosystems.

Deep, rapid, and sustained mitigation and accelerated implementation of adaptation actions in this decade would reduce projected losses and damages for humans and ecosystems.
