🧰 Maximizing operational flexibility through integrated training! ⛽

Airmen from multiple Air Force Specialty Codes across the 31st Maintenance Squadron integrated to execute a hands-on external fuel tank build-up exercise for F-16 Fighting Falcons at Aviano Air Base.

This collaborative effort allows maintainers to rapidly assemble external fuel tanks, directly supporting agile combat employment by empowering Aircraft Fuel Systems personnel to project power from forward operating locations while maintaining uninterrupted combat readiness back home.

📸 Check out highlights from the training below.

🔧 Three career fields. One shared maintenance capability. ✈️

U.S. Airmen across three maintenance career fields worked side by side at Aviano Air Base during a 31st Maintenance Squadron external fuel tank build-up exercise. During the hands-on training, Mission Ready Airmen from outside the Aircraft Fuel Systems career field learned to assemble external fuel tanks for F-16 Fighting Falcons.

Expanding this capability across the maintenance workforce supports Agile Combat Employment by giving the 31st Fighter Wing greater flexibility to send Aircraft Fuel Systems Airmen to forward operating locations while preserving fuel tank build-up capability at home station during real-world contingencies.

🚁 Owning the night, saving lives. 🌙

From July 17–31, the 57th Rescue Squadron certified as a personnel recovery task force during Exercise Savage Jackal. Integrating with U.S. Marine Corps MV-22B Ospreys from the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, rescue forces executed full-spectrum combat search and rescue missions across the Southwest, including maritime recoveries, free-fall infiltrations and hoist insertions.

Operating primarily at night, this joint integration validated the rescue squadron's readiness to rapidly deploy and execute complex rescues in degraded environments, protecting warfighters worldwide.
