📷✨ Photography meets sculpture at Cassero Per la Scultura

Since 2011, the Cassero Museum and the Francesco Mochi Fotoamatori Association have been collaborating to transform the museum's halls into an open-air laboratory: lights, statues and night atmosphere as a test bench for photographers in training.

This year, students from the class of 2026 are exhibiting their shots in the Cassero halls until November 1: images born at night, between sculptures from the eighteenth and ninetieth centuries, in an exhibition that tells the story of how sight is educated by looking.

Dal 2011, il Museo Cassero e l'Associazione Fotoamatori Francesco Mochi collaborano per trasformare le sale del museo in un laboratorio a cielo aperto: luci, statue e atmosfere notturne come banco di prova per i fotografi in formazione.

Quest'anno gli allievi del corso 2026 espongono i loro scatti nelle sale del Cassero fino al 1° novembre: immagini nate di notte, tra le sculture dell'Ottocento e del Novecento, in una mostra che racconta come lo sguardo si educa guardando.

🧵 What if a rag could become art?

From September 4 to October 30, 2026, the Ombra spaces in Montevarchi host CARO STRACCIO, a personal exhibition by the New York artist and performer Rita Lintz, curated by Gianluca Maver and Letizia Donati.

Around 40 photographic works tell a look capable of transforming rags, fabrics and waste materials into matter, memory and beauty, intertwining art, manual labor and territory.

✨ The exhibition inaugurates the Manifattura 2.0 cycle, dedicated to the rediscovery of manufacturing heritage and its ability to generate new visions.

Dal 4 settembre al 30 ottobre 2026, gli spazi di Ombra a Montevarchi ospitano CARO STRACCIO, mostra personale dell’artista e performer newyorkese Rita Lintz, a cura di Gianluca Maver e Letizia Donati.

Circa 40 opere fotografiche raccontano uno sguardo capace di trasformare stracci, tessuti e materiali di scarto in materia, memoria e bellezza, intrecciando arte, lavoro manuale e territorio.

✨ La mostra inaugura il ciclo Manifattura 2.0, dedicato alla riscoperta del patrimonio manifatturiero e alla sua capacità di generare nuove visioni.

⚔️ From September 3 to 9, Montevarchi returns to the Middle Ages

The Festival of Forgiveness is back with the historic reenactment of the return of Conte Guido Guerra and the great Game of the Well: the four inflatable balloons of the historic center compete in the ancient race that established who had the precedence over the city water.

Shows, gastronomic stands, market and atmosphere from other times animate Piazza Varchi for a whole week.

On September 5 and 6, San Giovanni Valdarno transforms into the starting point of a bicycle trip through history, landscape and local flavors.

Three courses for all levels:

🔴 Panoramico — 78 km

With food points along the way and plenty of opportunities to experience Valdarno as the star — or as spectators along the way.
