DOWEA is a field activity of the Office of the Secretary of War. Each region is managed by a Director for Student Excellence.

It is headed by a director who oversees all agency functions from DOWEA headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia. DOWEA's schools are divided into three regions; DOWEA Europe; DOWEA Pacific; and DOWEA Americas. Wi

📱 2026–2027 Cell Phone & Personal Device Policy Update 📱

Beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, students will not be permitted to use personal electronic devices during the school day. Devices must be silenced or turned off and securely stored from arrival until dismissal.

🚨 Important Parent Information 🚨

You may receive an email notification from the school indicating that your child has been checked out. Please do not be alarmed.

We are currently updating the student kiosk system at the front desk, and as a result, previous student checkout entries are now triggering notifications to parents. The system is simply catching up on past kiosk records.

Our 5th grade students put their creativity and Host Nation learning together in an exciting cross-curricular activity! 🎨🌍

Students transferred the artistic skills they learned in Art class into their Host Nation assignment by creating detailed and creative food illustrations inspired by Italian culture and language. From pizza and gelato to pasta and pastries, students combined drawing techniques, vocabulary, and cultural learning to showcase their understanding in a fun and engaging way.

We love seeing our students make meaningful connections across subjects while building creativity, communication, and cultural appreciation. Great job, 5th grade! 👏🇮🇹

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful parents and PTA for making Teacher Appreciation Week so special! 💙

Thank you to all of the families who donated, volunteered, and sent thoughtful gifts to our teachers and staff. Your kindness, generosity, and appreciation truly meant so much to us. From the breakfast cart and delicious lunch to the snacks, flowers, massages, and sweet treats, we felt incredibly loved and appreciated all week long.

A special thank you to Dr. Guth for helping us “chip away at the learning pit” — we definitely enjoyed the chips and Chips Ahoy cookies! 🥔🍪
