🍽 MANGIARE ALLA GROTTA DEL VENTO
Nelle immediate vicinanze di Fornovolasco, esiste un solo ristorante - ExtrAntrum (328 855 4138) situato a 150 metri dalla Grotta del Vento (due chilometri e mezzo dal paese), stagionale e aperto con servizio non stop dalle 11 alle 17. 💪
🚚 In considerazione dell'elevato potere attrattivo del luogo e degli immediati dintorni, per consentire ai turisti un servizio più ampio ed una maggiore possibilità di scelta, l'amministrazione comunale di Fabbriche di Vergemoli ha invitato due importanti realtà dello street food a piazzare i proprio impianti, una nella piazza di Fornovolasco, l'altra lungo la strada per la Grotta del Vento, all'inizio del sentiero che conduce al Monte Forato.
La prima (Osteria del Mare e della Porchetta) propone specialità di mare e vari tipi di panini. La seconda offre l'opportunità di degustare panini, focacce e piatti freddi preparati con alcune delle principali specialità gastronomiche della Garfagnana, tra le quali il famoso prosciutto "bazzone", prelibato presidio slow food.
Entrambe sono il sabato e la domenica ed anche in altre giornate nel periodo di massima affluenza.
Il più vicino tra i ristoranti che garantiscono l'apertura tutti i giorni dell'anno sia per il pranzo che per la cena è l'Antica Trattoria dell'Eremita (0583 767041), azienda agrituristica situata a trecento metri dall'Eremo di Calomini, a 10 chilometri dalla Grotta del Vento, lungo la strada proveniente da Gallicano . Oltre ad un servizio non stop dalla mattina alla sera, dispone di camere per il pernottamento. 💚
La Grotta del Vento, aperta tutti i giorni dell'anno, mette inoltre gratuitamente a disposizione della propria clientela, ormai da decenni, un'accogliente area picnic con tavoli, panche e fontane all'ombra dei carpini, ove consumare il pranzo al sacco portato da casa oppure le bevande e gli snack dolci e salati acquistabili presso il bar attiguo alla biglietteria. 😍

🍽 Eating Near the Grotta del Vento
In the immediate vicinity of Fornovolasco there is one restaurant, ExtrAntrum (328 855 4138), located just 150 metres from Grotta del Vento (approximately 2.5 kilometres from the village). It is open seasonally and offers continuous service from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. 💪
🚚 Given the area's strong appeal to visitors and the many attractions nearby, the Municipality of Fabbriche di Vergemoli has invited two well-established street food businesses to operate in the area, providing tourists with a wider range of dining options. One is located in the main square of Fornovolasco, while the other can be found along the road to Grotta del Vento, at the beginning of the footpath leading to Monte Forato.
The first, Osteria del Mare e della Porchetta, serves seafood specialities together with a variety of filled sandwiches. The second offers sandwiches, focaccia and cold dishes prepared using some of Garfagnana's finest local specialities, including the renowned Bazzone ham, a delicious product recognised as a Slow Food Presidium. Both operate on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as on additional days during the busiest visitor periods.
The nearest restaurant open every day of the year for both lunch and dinner is Antica Trattoria dell'Eremita, a farmhouse restaurant located just 300 metres from the Hermitage of Calomini, approximately 10 kilometres from Grotta del Vento along the road from Gallicano. In addition to serving food continuously throughout the day, it also offers accommodation for overnight stays. 💚
The Grotta del Vento, which is open every day of the year, has also provided its visitors with a welcoming picnic area free of charge for many decades. Equipped with tables, benches and drinking fountains beneath the shade of hornbeam trees, it is the perfect place to enjoy a packed lunch brought from home or drinks and sweet and savoury snacks purchased from the café next to the ticket office. 😍
