I am deeply concerned about the increasing reports of violence, bullying, and safety incidents in both public and private schools. As a parent with a child & an aunt with nieces and nephews, still attending school, how can I not be concerned?

Schools should be places where children feel safe, valued, supported, and free to learn without fear. Unfortunately, the growing number of incidents we hear about raises important questions about whether enough is being done to protect our students.

Ensuring the safety and well-being of our children is a shared responsibility among parents, school administrators, teachers, and the wider community. However, schools must take a proactive and serious approach in creating and enforcing measures that prevent violence, address bullying, and foster a culture of respect, accountability, and care.

At the heart of this issue is our collective duty to provide every child with a safe, respectful, and nurturing learning environment. Our children deserve to go to school with confidence, knowing they are protected, heard, and cared for. They deserve nothing less.
