Two clay rhytons each with modelled bull-head near the spout and shallow, incised decoration of zig-zags and running spirals and a lipped rim. As showed by the bull's heads style, they may be Iranian imports. Possibly datable to the 1st - 4th century AD. (British Museum, London, UK).

Inscribed silver bowl stored at the ‘Ataq Museum (Yemen). The external decoration is composite: two frames with geometric motifs adorn the extremities of the container; twelve different animals, as ibexes, dogs or lions, are represented in the central stripe.

Ciotola d'argento inscritta conservata presso l' ‘Ataq Museum (Yemen). La decorazione esterna è composita: due cornici con motivi geometrici adornano le estremità del contenitore; dodici animali diversi, come ibex, cani o leoni, sono rappresentati nella striscia centrale.

Four south arabian bronze pendants with moon crescent shape, found in the area of al-Ḥadāʾ. Each of them bears an incised dedicatory inscription in Early Sabaic on one side. The letters are carved with pointed or zig-zag lines. Stored at the Regional Museum of Dhamār (Yemen).

Quattro pendenti sudarabici in bronzo a forma di luna crescente. Provengono tutti dall'area di al-Ḥadāʾ. Ciascuno di essi reca incisa su un lato un'iscrizione dedicatoria in Antico Sabeo. Le lettere sono state incise con linee puntinate o a zig zag. Conservate al Regional Museum of Dhamār (Yemen).

South Arabian bronze statuette stored in the British Museum (London, UK). The figurine depicts a seated woman playing a round-based lyre.
As our knowledge of music and musical instruments in pre-Islamic Yemen is very fragmentary, this artifact is of great interest.
Another bronze figurine of a woman playing a lyre has been excavated from the temple of Nakraḥ at Barāqish, found in a context which apparently dates to the first century AD.

Statuetta in bronzo di origine sudarabica conservata al British Museum (Londra, UK). Rappresenta una donna seduta che suona la lira.
Questa figurina è di particolare interesse in quanto le nostre conoscenze riguardo la musica e gli strumenti musicali dello Yemen Pre-islamico è molto frammentaria.
Un'altra figurina in bronzo di donna che suona una lira è stata trovata durante lo scavo del tempio di Nakraḥ a Barāqish, in un contesto che sembra databile al primo secolo D.C.

Two exemples of South Arabian beehive-shaped stone vessels stored in the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, Pennsylvania (USA). The first has perforated handles in the shape of crouching lions, the second has unperforated projecting handles with lion heads. The preserved lid is tall and heavy, ending with a crouching lion.

Cylinder seal from Salut. It was discovered from an Iron Age context during the excavation of the Bronze Age tower ST1. The seal is decorated with a row of five men holding hands that, when rolled, creates a continual motif punctuated at intervals with astral symbols, including a solar disc. (IMTO archive)

Sigillo cilindrico da Salut. Fu scoperto durante gli scavi archeologici della torre dell'Età del Bronzo (ST1), in un contesto relativo alla rioccupazione di Età del Ferro della struttura. Il sigillo è decorato con una sequenza di cinque uomini che si tengono le mani; ciò determina, quando viene impresso, la creazione di un motivo continuo intervallato da simboli astrali, comprendenti il disco solare. Bronze statue found in Timna‘ (Qatabān), named "Lady Bar’at", now kept at the National Museum of Aden (Yemen). Recently Prof. Fabio Eugenio Betti has written an interesting paper about this peculiar statue: "Tradizione calssica e cultura sudarabica: osservazioni sulla statua bronzea di Lady Bar’at", published in EVO ###IX (2016). This work is part of the EU financied project DASI "DIgital Archive for the Study of Pre-lslamic Arabian Inscriptions" coordinate by Prof. Alessandra Avanzini.
